Credit crisis crunching ex-pats?
"I would not want to be a Romany; I would not want to be a foreigner; I'm not sure I would even want to be a Brit in Spain."
Which former Minister for Europe said this recently and is he right?

As no one seems to have noticed this, it would seem likely expats were hit hardest by the Icelandic failures, as they operated offshore funds in IOM, Guensey, etc. that were able to pay interest gross, so suitable for non UK resident Brit expats......
But no one has mentioned this??? Have they????

I'm about to become an expat, in December, and I can't wait to get away from this country and the media driven 'credit crunch' hysteria, the UK has talked itself into a worse place than it would have been if it had been like the rest of Europe and not run round like headless chickens thinking the whole world is going to collapse around them.
The media has become out of hand here with it's scaremonger attitude, a good example is the whole Ross\Brand incident blown out of all proportion so much so the government got involved.
What is wrong with the people in this country, I'd made up my mind to leave a year ago but everything that has happened recently has just confirmed to me just how bad this country is, I will be very glad to see the back of the government and the UK media as I get on my one way flight out of the UK.
