Autumn....
More autumn photos from PM listeners.
From Saturday October 25th: "Hi Eddie... taken this morning in Thetford Forest. Jason North - Suffolk."
"Here are some lovely Acers at Westonbirt Arboretum this autumn... hope you like them! Mark Bolton"
"Here are some more autumn pictures- I took them on a recent school trip. One is some colourful leaves in a garden. The other is a sunset photo over the city rooftops.
Tanya Dhir (Year 11)"
Janet Waite in Harrogate thought we'd all enjoy this photo taken on October 26th "at Fountains Abbey Water Garden, Yorkshire. I'm a volunteer warden, and never get fed up of seeing the changing seasons there."
Also taken that Sunday "sunset, at Burton-on-Trent. Very best wishes from Gillian."
More from Tanya Dhir: "a misty autumn sunrise" and "a river of fallen leaves by a tree."

"Twig people. David McNickle, St Albans"

"This is the scene outside my council flat, just another year. Nick Derby".
Fearless Fred sent this on the 28th of October: "taken this morning (before I scraped the ice from the car).
And look, Christine Cook has been back in touch. "Hello Eddie,
I was delighted to see my New York Autumn picture on the Autumn pictures, it really is a marvellous Autumn here and abroad, so maybe I will be lucky again and am sending you one of me at Stourhead one of my favourite places."
Also from last Tuesday: "I took this at lunchtime on Tuesday on Glasgow Green. Out of sight behind me were a couple of dozen hungry, honking geese...The Stainless Steel Cat."
And finally, for now...this from Cessa Moore: "Herefordshire cider apple harvest, October 2008"

Beautiful - and love the shallow depth of field.

I was referring to Jason's photo by the way.

Cessa's photo is scrumptious.
In general: the reds are getting incredibly red now, it's like something from War of the Worlds.

Thanks Jonnie, I do try to stay calm when I'm behind the lens... ;o)

Me (7):
Not calm now though... It seems that the traditional November the Fifth fireworks display at Glasgow Green (pictured above) will take place... on November the Sixth. Why? Because there's a football match on tonight.
This city is as mad as a hatful of badgers.
If I get a chance, I'll take a picture or two of the fireworks, in case they qualify as autumnal. (Or alternatively drunken football hooligans lying face-down in drifts of leaves.)

Lovely photo of the leaves Tanya - is it just me or did anyone else think of elephants' feet when they saw the tree trunks? Just me then.....
Mine hasn't emerged yet...... I don't hold out much hope as my WOYW photo never arrived either!

Eddie, Twig people was a series of four. Where are the other three? Bluddie artistic license! Grumble, grumble, grumble....

Re; gossipmistress - no I didn't - do you need a break from the surgery?
However I thought Nicks bollards resembled elephants legs.

Gillian, Nice colors. I think you are taking this too seriously.

But DMcN! You should be really happy. One of your photos has been used!

F_O 14, Actually, two have been used, but I worked my fingers to the bone to make that series of photos, and for no reason. After all, somebody else got a series of four showing foliage change color. And very nice they were....as were mine.

The people who take all these photos know how to make a chap feel inadequate. None of mine are nearly as good. We still have mostly green leaves, even on the North Downs, but when the leaves turn they seem to fall immediately, so no spectacular photographs.

David McNickle (13) Thank you ;o)
Unlike yours, my pic took no effort at all - I was walking back to the car after watching my daughter win a rowing race on the river, and was snapping away willy-nilly as I went.
The colours just happened to be there!
