So Scots poppies have four petals, English ones have two. How many do Welsh and Irish ones have? When did some of them start coming with leaves attached? Do they all also come in white?
Ref comment no.3 I seem to remember that when I was a boy, a long time ago, one got a poppy with leaves if one's donation was big enough
The Peace Pledge Union used to sell white poppies and as far as I know are not allowed to lay wreaths of white poppies at remembrance celebrations - sorry, ceremonies.

Alan Little's looks like it's been in his desk drawer since last year. Is it also a fake?

AIUI, having typed "four leaf poppy" into google, the one on the right is from the scottish poppy appeal!
Do I get a prize?

Allan has lost the leaf to his!

The missing leaf is also a feature of scottish poppies (or should that be that the leaf is not a feature of scottish poppies?)
Can I do a Saturday Morning Radio show instead?

And the reason it is crinkled is beacuse the Scots use the same Poppy for years and it is inclined to get creased if carelessly stored.

In Jersey one can buy little enamel brooch poppies, the design of which is changed annually.....
They are far easier to pin on clothing and much more difficult to lose!!
Pretty too!

Of course, if you're on radio, you needn't wear a poppy at all. All the telly types seem to.
What's Allan up to?
