"Eddie & Team, Here's a nice autumnal picture I took this morning of the moon through wispy clouds. What? You wanted trees? Bah. All of us are trudging through slimy leaf- drifts, but some of us are looking at the stars, as Oscar Wilde might have said on an off-day. The Stainless Steel Cat".

"Attached is photo of a corner of my garden, in Wallington, Surrey. I took it on Saturday morning. Unfortunately, yesterday's wind and rain has rather spoilt the effect. I enjoyed the chap from Stourhead - his descriptions were so vivid I could see everything. Could we have him back to describe the effects of the first snows and then again when the spring bulbs are in full swing? Best Wishes AllotmentJo.

"Picture taken at Sheffield Park today 20/10/08. Lovely colours inspite of an overcast and at times damp day from Chris Pearce".

"Hi Eddie. I took this at Bridge of Dee on Monday 20th October about 1630. We sure know how to enjoy ourselves in Aberdeen but I suppose it makes a change from the more usual shopping trolley. Regards Monica Neville"

I thought the photos have to be this autumn, One of these says it was taken about 1630. Great colours for a 370 year old photo ;-)

Howl, mostlt. (Yes, I'm a werecat... catwolf... whatever.)

I *was* all prepared to go out into the very clear morning today and take some long-exposure star-photos, but between making my breakfast (at 5:45) and getting outside with the camera (6:30) the sun came up! (Boo, hiss to the time-change.)

Still, there's actually mean to be some sun around this week so I might get to take some proper daylight autumn photos, unlike one I nearly took during the storms on Saturday of my neighbour's barbecue set lid which had apparently flown UFO-like and landed on my vegetable patch (actually just mud this year).

Of the pictures above, I love the cobweb and the reflective lake...

    Hello? Anybody there?

Since the more recent Autumn thread's been hijacked by criticism of a "comedian" and an "entertainer"...

Interesting to compare different weather forecasts:
    BBC: Sleet showers
Accuweather (people responsible for FireFox and Vista weather gadgets): Now mostly cloudy, remainder of the afternoon some sun with a few showers
ITV: Some sunshine but also some wintry showers (in amongst trying to load an autoplay video and encouraging me to download an ActiveX plugin - urgh!)

Real life: Nice and sunny this morning, continuous rain this afternoon. It's dark enough to have triggered some of work's exterior lights...

I think I'll wait until tomorrow before attempting to find a sunny autumn scene to photograph...
