I suppose it's Art rather than merely a slightly dirty broom, so we are probably expected to start bidding in the thousands of pounds rather than the low pence.
If the bristles, head and handle are securely attached, and it works, I'd be prepared to bid gold...
Well, one pound.
If somebody stripped the paint off it, and gave it a nice coat of varnish, I'd be prepared to pay in silver as well... two pounds.
However, as Chris suggested, it's probably part of some artwork, so in common with Tracy Emin's unmade bed, the elephant dung, the paint pots knocked over and spilled onto a blank canvas (as well as all over the workshop), someone will probably be claiming it's art and trying (successfully) to convince someone with stacks of money and very little sense to buy it...
Erik: No, you didn't break the blog thread - it's just the BBC's blog software seems to be allergic to anything other than standard ACSII - which includes pound signs and any 'special' characters inserted by MS Word (e.g. the so-called "SmartQuotes" (which aren't if you try pasting them anywhere else!).

I'd pay a tenner for it if I were allowed to use it to sweep up the circles of pebbles someone has carelessly left on the floor of Tate Liverpool ;o)

Eddie, I've got 2p. Is it the original handle and head?

Nothing at all - unless it's a Bentley, in which case £75,000.
