Sorry the explanation arrived after the corpse, but as you know, a decent wake plays merry hob with the ability to type straight and I didn't feel up to it. Anyhow the keyboard is ashore and I was at least eight seas over at the time.

    Dear Sir,
Please find enclosed a report on Jonnie's recent school trip to Lichfield.

Today Jonnie has learnt to navigate safely to a town in the distant Midlands, called Lichfield. Once there he has met up with his friends, and enjoyed a lovely meal. The children have socialised together well, and the meal was followed by gospel hymn singing, when Jonnie joined in well, and displayed his talents on the triangle. He also enjoyed using his video camera to record the day's events, and this is confidently expected to improve his skills in IT.

It was nice to see Jonnie enjoying himself so much in this unfamiliar situation, and displaying his social skills. It was only a pity that he had to leave early, before he had completed the "alcohol tolerance increase course", in which he had only passed the first module (1 glass of wine).

We hope to see him again soon to complete the course. (Minimum required to pass - 3 bottles).

    Yours sincerely
