Britain's oldest blogger is 120.
Well, not really. We were asking yesterday about Britain's oldest blogger . We got this email from Bill Lamin:
"The oldest blogger?
My grandfather, at 120, must be a contender - and one of the most successful. His blog is just approaching the 2 million page loads mark.
Ok, he's not still alive. But, the blog is still active, with thousands of regular readers. On it, he publishes his letters from the World War 1 front in real time + 90 years. Currently, mid July, having survived Flanders, he's encountering of a bit of unpleasantness in the dolomites. "

Slightly off topic...

I think you are wrong because the oldest blogger is "RJMolesworth" a regular contributor to the PM blog. I know this because of a claim yesterday that he, or she remembered the British invading Canada. As the British took control from those pesky French in 1764, I would guess "RJM" is approximately 260 years old.

Unless someone from the future visited him and put in stasis for about 150 years before resurrecting him a few years ago...
Which is equally improbable...

Oh ha ha, look at the "Recent Entries" section! Anyone who was new to this blog would think it was peopled by weirdos and mad people. Whereas we know differently, don't we? Don't we???
The title for this thread reminds me of the old joke when people read out letters on stage at shows. "Oh, bless, this one says 'Mrs Jones is 111 today' let's all sing Happy Birthday".
Followed by audience singing Happy Birthday.
Followed by the letter reader peering more closely at the note, and saying "Oh, sorry, it says 'Mrs Jones is ill today".

The postcard thread... someone must have misunderstood and posted it in a real, snailmail post box. Won't arrive for another week or so, then.

Or do I mean pillar box? Hmmm. Has my vocab changed while I wasn't looking?
Again?

Hmmm...the latest entry on http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/pm/entries_with_postcards/ is 16th April...2007. Looks as though Eddie's been a bit lax over categorisation recently as I'm sure we've had some since then...

A bit of unpleasantness in the dolomites can be quite painful.
