Friday RL will see me departing Oxford / Woodstock for the fair community of Moreton In Marsh and then home to Norfolk and a weekend of laying a new patio for the SO. Then maybe I will be allowed to take all my inhibitions off and run into the sea and have a dip...

At last! I found a new beach! I've been away too long and couldn't find it!
I'm off tomorrow for the weekend to meet up with some fabulous 3D friends. So I shall have a quick paddle on this beach and a cup of coffee before leaving for other climes.

Happy holidays to all those who have them. Little Red, thanks for the scrambled eggs - here's some smoked salmon to go with them.
The highlights of my weekend will probably be taking my mother to see my daughter's new home, and buying a gazebo - you never know, I may have the opportunity to sit in the garden with my friends this summer! (though the one we want is water-resistant!)
Mmmm...two more minutes to soak up this sunshine, then I'm off to make model houses for the 3 little pigs. There will be lots of huffing and puffing. ;o)

Ok, inhibitions abandoned and a strange weekend ahead in RL, what with Mr ValP being off sailing round the Mull of Kintyre (well, perhaps not completely round it, I don't think he's looked at a map of Scotland lately). Perhaps I shall spend the whole 4 days down here on the beach, making up for lost time?
I think a nice cup of Costa Rica is called for first....

I went to a Maceo Parker gig last night (James Brown's legendary sax player). Funkier than a very funky thing. Today the sun is out, I am wearing my funky shades and using the word 'funk' a lot (funkalot, hey I like that). Would somebody please Pass the Peas? And is it time for my medication yet?

ooh I agree, what a lovely intro - and just what I need. Mind if I grab one of these loungers and chill out for a while? RL getting the better of me........just realised (when I went to pay for lunch and found an empty purse), that I was not given my £20 cashback last night in T**co's - and having younger child with me trying to grab all the carrier bags at the checkout, somewhat distracted me and I forgot to ask.....grrr! Don't think I kept the receipt to prove it either as I only bought milk.... Now I know food prices have risen at a ridiculous rate, but nearly £22 for 4 pints of milk is excessive!

What a beautifull morn it is as well, a gentle mist rises from the River Bure, the sun a pale disk in the sky, the coffee is brewing and the bread is a toasting.
I will leave a plentiful supply of both at NC's along with my favourite Lemon marmalade.
BTW, wot are all these shredded inhibitions and plates of trype doing by the naughty step.

Deep - it is a little confusing: good weather for a bank hol. over here (the land of orange) our hols were wed and thurs (with fri generously tagged on from my work) so the rain man didn't get chance to ruin the festivities. but it does mean come monday morning I am back in the office so will appreciate coffee and sympathies.
but in the meantime lets make the most of the weather. the rain is no doubt due by mon! sandcastle competition anyone?

Stew - here on the beach is probly the only place you could erect a Maypole without having H&S, insurance, public liability, local authority inspections, barriers and parking restrictions, and signs saying

These sprouts <fx: waves vaguely> have been simmering gently for some time now, and will be ready for Christmas luncheon 2009. With me so far?
Those <ditto> I'm in the middle of peeling, on a fairly casual basis, since they don't have to go anywhere near hot water for several months yet, as they are intended for Christmas 2010.
Christmas this year (2008) - don't ask me, I wasn't SproutMeister when the planning took place. It could be 1947* all over again ...

There is a box full of strawberry mivvies over here.
Flakes (other choccy bars are avaialable) are in the freezer to keep them cool.
Don't put the cans of fizzy pop in the frezzer.Or if you do don't forget they are there as ceratin cola based drinks (in red cans or is it now silver with red writing) tend to expand when frozen. Ususally bursting.

Well remember Putney Bridge, but these days stick closer to home and Richmond's version. Regularly used to catch the last train from Putney to Richmond (if at all). These days go no further in, the traffic is so awful.

Deep (86) : It could have been longer, what with Probate, an' all... what a boring waste of one's life THAT is!! I know the benefits are important, but there is so little help for people who have no idea where to begin. And it's not as if it's a new situation!
Anyhoo... I was thinking of dedicating a wine cellar for the Beach in memory of dear old Dad. How about digging it out under the back of the Nick Clarke Bar, and calling it Bill's Stash? We all consider tucking in the odd spare bottle of our favourite tipple, for those occasions when we want to share a bit of something special.
I will happily start the stash with a couple of bottles of Cleanskin (you'll learn nothing from the label, but by golly your taste buds will love it!) and 3 bottles of El Bombero which at 15% will blow your socks off in the most painless way possible.
And tonight, I have uncorked a bottle of Black Stump. Fearless, hold out your glass!

Fifi - helloooo! Oh I can vouch for the wonderfulness that is El Bombero. Although tonight at ValP Towers we've been celebrating a wedding anniversary with a bottle of Alsace Pinot Gris - superbly chilled and delicious!
SSC - excellent news! and news from TD's similar direction, she's just signed her Tenancy Agreement for next year and is very excited not to have to share a shower with 5 others! May I ask you, what department?

Phew, finally made it here past 302 obstacles and timeout time shifts.
Late breakfast of scrambled eggs and smoked salmon on the bar (hoping I might tempt Ed I out with it) and plenty of wholemeal bread and fresh butter plus English Breakfast tea. Also Blue Mountain coffee and croissants for those who'd like something a little more continental.

Good news for TD! Shared ablutions can be bit draining...
The department is Accounting & Finance, sadly not really subjects for the Beach. It's a bit of good news for us, on the heels of hearing that we won't be moving to new accommodation this summer as planned, basically because we wouldn't fit. (Because there's too many of us, not because we eat too many cakes!)
Still since it's sunny, I might ask the boss whether we can take our computers outside - like we used to do at school except we had jotters in those days (no, not wax tablets). Plenty of room out there.

here I am having a nice snooze, minding my own business and a truck load of sand is dumped on top of me. it's not that i'm not enjoying the wheelies and other antics sid, but do you mind piling up the sand somewhere else? the purple hamock's my favourite place to rest my eyes...

DIW 102, We had a man who worked with the 'dancing' JCB team dig an archaeological site for us at Repton. He dug right through an electricity cable and cut off the power to one of the school halls.

Since this is where every regular gets to, dis muss be da place to whack a rumor.
I am not never have been nor ever shall be mac.
Whether the other people you think are, I know not, but I ain't.
So, a large G and T for a certain Horse when he gets here. I'd have posted this at 'Alcohol' where the Horse thought it best to start the rumour but I would have thought that thread was strictly for people with serious concerns. Horse sense?
