Good grief. I opened the blog and none of the threads more recent than the one I commented on (the Glass Box for Thursday, I think) was shown at all, but at the top of that thread it had a 'next' to click on so I did, and three whole more threads are 'next'ing from there.
Blimey. I'll probably catch it just before Waking the Dead next Monday. (Trevor Eve's persisent bad temper is strangely watchable.) In fact, I'll make a mental note to do so.
How shall we recognise you Eric? Will you be wearing a nice pink shirt? :-)
You're right about Waking the Dead. After this week's episode, I imagine Trevor Eve's character will implode. I thought he was very good as Hughie Greene, though, didn't you?
Eddie @ 2, thanks for the suggestion. It didn't work, but closing the whole thing and starting again (after emptying the cache and eliminating all the BBC stuff for the third time this morning/afternoon) seems to have done the trick in the end.
It did seem to be a whole new departure in the 'blog hitches' line, though. I don't dare wonder about the business of whether I am signed in or signed out, too, after being required to do one or other on every thread for some while, each being the opposite of what I had done the time before. As it were. I shall go and make myself an ice-pack and lie down in a darkened room instead. :-)
Rachel (12) the catchline for the link IS a little misleading. It MEANS: information for the PM blog about trails on the telly. The trail...well it's more of a promo really...is about PM, not the blog.
The creative people who've made it will send us more information - just for the blog - when they have it.
Should we all pretend we don't smoke or drink, like meeting SO's extended family for the first time?
Should they tell us what programme junction they heard about us in/at? I'd be very frightened thinking people who can watch first Panorama then the programme junction trails and then the Waking the Dead were reading anything I wrote. They would be seriously serious I would have thought. Seriously.
Hey, Big Sis, did clever Trevor Ever play Hughie Greene in some play about him? What was it called 'Take your biopic?' :-). Did he really have a third 'e'?
Rachel G (12) - possibly he's hoping to attract a better class of riff-raff to the blog?
Jonnie - What's wrong with Paul Temple? Does it make you feel old? We used to gather round the radio on a Sat night in NZ, listening avidly to the series. I loved the music too. Every so often I get to play it in a light music concert, & it still gives me a thrill. I think it was called "Coronation Scot" & sounds like a steam train at the beginning. I'd never heard that part of the music until I played it, as the radio theme tune comes from later on in the piece.
Oh, posted 15 whilst Eddie was kindly sending 14. Sorry.
And now realise Trevor must have played Hughie in something called 'Dad, Halve Your Money!' (see Wikipedia on the poor chap's family background. So 'Sorry' again.
Big Sis, you're not Monica growed big like Topsy are you? :-).
pmL: You're right (of course!) there was no third e. It just looks more, well, balanced to me.
It was called 'Most sincerely', which was v. much a Hughie phrase. Eve, while not a double for Hughie, caught his mannerisms well, and (I thought) transferred well between his public, smarmy, persona and the offscreen 'randy' reality. I'd never have thought the real man was capable of what, it would appear, he actually was. So, no judge of character it would appear!

Ah. I suspect approaching disappointment on both counts...

I only saw a clip of that Sis (5), and I don't remember Mr Green, but, yes, he seemed to do the part justice.

Aps, while not a Trevor Eve fan, I was genuinely impressed by his performance in that role.
Of course you never saw Hughie Greene, Aps. After all, he died over ten years ago ;o)

OOh! I may be able to catch the first one, as I'm usually finishing off on the treadmill in the gym when Breakfast finished on a Saturday :-)

Blog trails? Dare I ask, why?

Well the sooner BBC Radio 4 ditch this damn Paul Temple trail the better!

Um, am I being daft here? The link says PM Blog trails on the telly. Does this mean the level of interactivity will go up another notch?
How much did you pay Mark Thompson to raise the profile, Eddie?

For those of us who don't have a TV, is there are chance to have a copy of this trailer for the PM blog on the blog?

Re: Annasee and Paul Temple.
No - I enjoy them too - it's just that whenever I turn on Radio 4 they are putting out the trail again.
If that particular drama was going to get so much publicity they should have done some alternative versions?
