Your pictures of the week: Reflections
It's been a busy week, lots of blog posts and big news stories too. Anyway, it's Thursday so time for a gallery of your pictures, this week we set you the task of taking photos on the theme of reflections.
You can see the ones we have chosen in a gallery here.
Do let us know which is your favourite by using the comment box below.
As ever, congratulations to those whose pictures have been chosen - and if your picture didn't make it, why not send us something for next week?
The new theme is "modernity" and was suggested to us by roddylancs a reader of this blog.
Interpret this in any way you see fit and send your pictures to us at yourpics@bbc.co.uk or upload them directly from your computer.
Please include the word "Modernity" in the subject line of your message.
The deadline is midnight BST Tuesday 14 July, and remember to add your name and a caption: who, what, where and when should be enough, though the more details you give, the better your chance of being selected.
We will publish a selection of your photos this time next week.
Files should be sent as JPEGs. They shouldn't be larger than 10Mb and ideally much smaller: around 1Mb is fine, or you can resize your pictures to 1,000 pixels across.
Please see our terms and conditions, but remember that the copyright remains with you. The pictures will only be used by the BBC for the purposes of this project. Finally, when taking photos, please do not endanger yourself or others, take unnecessary risks or infringe any laws.
Any questions or suggestions for future themes, please use the comment form and I'll get back to you.

How remisce of the BBC to identify one image as "a shot of a town square in glass". This is part of the metal obilisque featured in the series Torchwood at the Wales Millennium Centre in Cardiff Bay (not a town, thank you and not glass). Yet you have no problem identifying Chicago. Why is anything connected to Wales EVER given due credit by the EBC (English Broadcasting Corporation)?

What an excellent set of pictures! This has to be the best of these galleries of readers' photographs that I have seen. Congratulations to all the photographers.

I wonder why my comment is under permanent "moderation" - despite the fact that these posts are supposed to be reactively moderation. Has it got anything to do with the fact that it was challenging to the BBC?

That will teach me to check this page more frequently, I missed this week's assignment! Too late to enter this I suppose:

This has to be the worst page on the BBC web site. It is so mixed up and so very hard to follow.

Nice picture of the lake - I reckon that's the best one too.
My contribution is actually the Venice picture, which incidentally the 4th pic of mine to be chosen in the last 6 weeks for this website - so many thanks Phil! The original shots can be found at: http://www.flickr.com/photos/39231910@N06/
Really like and enjoy the new format for this site. Now looking forward to the challenge of 'modernity'.

I love number 9. The heron's face is perfectly framed by the golden reflection of the post. Excellent work!!

I quite like the first one, it reminds me of an artist I was studying for my photography course who used repeating patterns (can't for the life of me remember his name though).
The comments under the pictures are given by the people who submit them. If there isn't one, it's a comment that fits the pictures (roughly).

@richard_thomas: nice pic of the flamingo. I was kicking myself that I did not enter this one, but that's life.

It's a shame you couldn't have considered this for inclusion.

I say chaps ! and chap'esses !
Winge, winge, winge, winge, winge. Do you realise that 50% of the comments here; [and now 53%] are not what this site is about. It's about photography and photographs; not about nationalism or the fact that you forget to post a photo but here it is anyway, or even that mine wasn't chosen so here it is.
Please can the moderators be less moderate and put an end to this self-promotion; and get this excellent site back to how it should be.
Many thanks

Love all the pics, just slightly annoyed that pic number six says it is of a 'town square', when it is in fact of Cardiff Bay! And it's not glass, it's polished metal!
