The Trillion Dollar Con-Man - the debate

On tonight's Panorama, reporter Peter Marshall unpicks the scam that took in former England manager Sven-Goran Eriksson, Britain's former spymaster and the government of North Korea.

The con in question also forced a London bank into administration with debts of £8.7m and has prompted the Serious Fraud Office to examine the elaborate series of events that led to Notts Country FC, the Football League's oldest team, being left £7m in debt.

We welcome your thoughts on tonight's programme, please use this blog as a forum to discuss this story.

Well, I was going to comment after watching the programme on BBC Iplayer, having just got in from work and missed the original transmission. I read earlier today (and just now) that the programme would be available. I've just clicked on the link and...the programme is NOT available. Can someone get to the truth of THIS?

    Dear Kingstonian,
We are indeed available on the BBC iPlayer. The time it takes after the original transmission for the iPlayer catch up service to be available is usually around three hours. Apologies, I think you might have tried us just before the programme was made available. Here is the link http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b010p00r/Panorama_The_Trillion_Dollar_ConMan/

The good news is that most Panorama programmes are available for an extended 12 months after they are first broadcast rather than the standard seven days.

Thanks for your interest in Panorama.

If patience is a virtue then I'm...whatever the opposite of virtuous is.

Excellent and informative half-hour. A few newspaper journalists maintained a healthy cynicism about the Qadbak/Munto Finance takeover from the start. This programme is vindication of that cynicism.

I write for the 'twohundredpercent' website. A favourable review of the programme is on the way...

At last a decent bit of investigatory journalism by reporter Peter Marshall and the Panorama team.

Exactly how convicted fraudster Russell King actually managed to con so many influential people is really quite amazing.
