Du Toit vs the world
Whilst you might have heard about the boxing-style tussle that was going on at the front of the race during the Women's 10k Open Swim.
...An equally significant event was taking place for disability sport in the water as South Africa's Natalie Du Toit who had one leg amutated at 17 became the first athlete to compete in both the Olympics and Paralympics, she finished the marathon race in a highly respectable 16th place.
With so much talk pre-games about whether compatriot Oscar Pistorius would compete, now Natalie had made this historic leap it seems fair that she should take the spotlight!

The only way it's "significant" for Disability sport is that it shows that to have credibility as a sportsperson in the eyes of non-disabled people, she had to betray the Paralympic movement.
