Ouch weblog: individual blog entry
6 Jul 07, 11:57 AM - Viva Frida!
Thanks to Blue at the Gimp Parade, I learnt that today is a hundred years since the birth of disability icon, Frida Kahlo. As Blue says, Kahlo is arguably the most famous disabled woman who has ever lived. She also remains of the world's most famous women artists and her life was the subject of the very fine 2002 movie, Frida, starring Salma Hayek.
Blue has some of the pictures and further links to her works in galleries through the world can be found at Artcyclopedia. There's also a review of the Frida Kahlo exhibition at the Tate in 2005 up at Marmite Boy on Toast.
