Well, on the path to enlightenment you may face many obstacles, especially perhaps when you're dealing with Rother District Council.
The WhatDoTheyKnow site may or may not be 'amateurish' in the view of local authorities who seem to find it irritating, but there's undoubtedly a value in such exchanges being on public display. This one reminds you of the following important truth, which all conspiracy theorists and the rest of us should never forget: just because they're behaving as if they've got something to hide, it doesn't mean they actually have.

Funnily enough, I found that same entry this morning when taking a browse through the whatdotheyknow site.
I'm sure the good people at Rother DC are chuffed to see their misundertsanding of the FOI Act published for all to enjoy...

I wonder if/how public authorities will treat requests that come through the whatdotheyknow differently. The web site gives the word 'transparency' a whole new meaning...
