I'm in Beijing for my fourth Olympic Games, commentating on cycling and boxing for BBC Radio 5 Live.

Some of you may know me primarily as a football commentator on TV's Match of the Day and on radio, but having covered the Tour de France 14 times and numerous world title fights over the past 15 years - as well as Olympic Games in Atlanta, Sydney and Athens - I feel at home in the velodrome and boxing hall.

Chris Boardman - Olympic champ in 1992 - is alongside me for all the cycling events in China.

Simon Brotherton is a commentator for BBC Radio 5 Live, concentrating on the cycling in Beijing. Our FAQs should answer any questions you have.

    Simon,

I actually know you most for your TDF commentary and I feel that is where your heart lies? One of my favourite pieces of radio commentary is you describing Floyd Landis' finish in the mountains after his disaster the day before. I suspect you were as devastated as me by what happened after.

I live in France now and your commentaries created a feel for the place and the magic of what is still one of the world's great sport's events.

Athletics has just as many problems doping-wise as cycling. Cycling is doing something about it. Vive Le Tour!
