Alex Kapranos 2013 With a new album imminent to add to an already sparkling music career and influence, we know asking Franz Ferdinand’s front man Alex Kapranos to control Now Playing @6Music is going to be pretty great.

But with you helping him, it’s going to be spectacular!

Right Thoughts, Right Words, Right Action will be the Glaswegian band's fourth album. Their debut won them the Mercury Prize and an Ivor Novello Award as well as BRITs and NME Awards.

So what should be included in a playlist to reflect an act, which has had so much success and in particular will get the seal of approval from their charismatic singer himself?

Your favourite Franz Ferdinand tracks – be it a hit, b-side or rariety
* Some of their influences like The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Roxy Music or Blur
* Other bands Tore Johansson has produced such as New Order, Suede, Saint Etienne or OK Go
* Artists they’ve collaborated with or covered? Perhaps LCD Soundsystem, Pulp, David Bowie or Hot Chip?

As always, you pick the music, but this time it has to go through Alex Kapranos to get approval. You can let him know what you think he should play by commenting here or on our Facebook page, Tweet using #Franz6Music, email us at nowplaying@bbc.co.uk or add tracks to this Spotify or Rdio playlist.
