School surfing...

Now you've probably heard of mountain boarding and kite surfing - what what about street surfing?
Well it's a cool new sport which I got to try out for Newsround at a school in Dorset yesterday. It's basically like skateboarding but the board, called a 'waveboard', is much easier to ride and you can go up hills without putting your feet down. They're also quite a good fitness work out so schools in Dorset are letting their pupils have a go at riding waveboards as part of their PE lessons.
Here's a photo of me riding one - looking pretty sick eh? Or maybe not, I think I'll stick to snowboarding, but it was really good fun. If you want to find out more about street surfing and see me in action on the board, then check out this afternoon's Newsround at 5.25pm on BBC1.

I think skateboarding is a good idea because i particularly don't like P.E because the school does not make it enjoyable

It looks so much fun! but a little hard. i am useless at skate boarding cos last time i tried a fractured my wrist but then again i am the greatest at hellies! i cant wait until i have my first go!!!

my name is holly and i think street surfing is fun and when i heard that newround were doing a film about it i was suprised when we were in are P.E lesson i had a lot of fun i hope they sail them in this country

Ive heard of skateboarding and skiing but never street surfing...they sound wierd but fun!

OMG this sounds ace, would like to check it out, shame we don't have anything like that at our school, would make our BTEC sports course practicals alot more fun and intresting as we only get 1 practical a week!!!! :(

hey newsround, i did that at my skool it was brilliant, and guess what.... those 2 instructors were the same people who came. i thort it was great and id love to do it agian!
2 people in my class have already got a wave board! i picked it up straight away! did you lizzie??
i realy want 2 do it agian someday!

i think its cool that u are street surfing sounds fun but we dont hav stuff lik thta at our school but im sry to here ur disabled my bf is too but it dosnt matter how u look its wats in the inside so im glad to hear ur having fun as much as u can while ur disabled i kno it must b hard to do things as ur tring tem out but have fun!!! and b safe plz!!

I think that it is really cool that we can come to school and be able to have fun and have new experiences. I wish we could do that at my school.
