Sorry, I'll say that again
What do George Osborne and Michelle Obama have in common?
Both have been quoted this week as saying things they didn't intend to say.
On Newsnight last night, Mr Osborne - speaking from a noisy Mansion house - appeared to say that a Conservative government would be willing to reopen negotiations on public sector pay. We thought that was a significant developoment, but as we reported his comments a Conserative spokesman rang us to say that if he did say that - and if you watch the clip here he clearly did - he didn't mean to.

Less serious perhaps than Michelle Obama's apparent gaffe when she seemed to say that her husband Barack was pathetic. Pathetic not being a great attribute in a presidential candidate, it was quickly pointed out that what she actually said was "I did not want Barack to go into politics because I thought politics was a mean business. And you know, I knew this man that I loved, he was sweet, empathetic."
Glad we got that straight.

EMPATHIC ABSOLUTE FORCE
Is this sweet empathic man the same Barack Obama who has sworn to gift Jerusalem to the Jews and to use 'any means in his power' (X2) to bring Iran to heal? Kinda reminds you of that sweet empathic husband of Cherie Blair.

I listened several times to the George Osborne reply to Kirsty Wark's question about whether he was against reopening previously negociated pay deals. He rather carefully, I thought, avoided using the word, "renegotiate", but said rather, while insisting that he was still in favour of negotiating pay deals, he would give priority to the needs of the worst-off. It was foolish of Kirsty Wark to think that she had caught him out, revising policy on the hoof. Even the trades union representative with her was far from certain that George Osborne had supported renegotiation, and said as much. At the very least his actual words were far too ambiguous for Kirsty Wark's claim.

Barrie,
You mustn't blame Barak. Superficially one would expect the 'black brother' lobby to pounce on him first, yet in truth the greediest most selfish and efficient group is the Zionist tail that always wags the 'dog'.
What other country could impose such demands on the worlds greatest economy, and yet offer absolutely nothing in return?
All that sponsership by the USA yet 90% of trade is with Europe. If people here in the UK want to help the Palestinians who admittedly throw a lot of homemade and rarely fatal firecrackers over the fence of their penned up nation, and in return get anihilated at a rate of at least 10 to 1; then stop buying the Israeli fruit and veg which flood our shops.
Something I discovered recently is that Israel and Monsanto are inseperably linked and have been producing manipulated foods since the 1940's. What kind of people would wish to create sterile seed, and force it upon the poor?
I see the UK is about to be swamped with this new vegan/animal plague in the name of productivity even though it has so far been shown to be barely, if at all better production wise and suffering from hyper inflatory pricing....

It would be good if Newsnight - and BBC News more generally - could try harder to report the news and spend less time trying to make the news. I certainly hold no brief for George Osborne but for two nights running we have had Kirsty Wark desparately trying to put words in the mouth of interviewees - George Osborne last night and John Bruton tonight - and then highlighting that as a great development later in the programme. Together with other trends such as the increasing frequency of news bulletins being a crude vehicle for plugging other BBC programmes, this will increasingly undermine the Corporation's precious reputation for impartiality and integrity which once lost will be very hard to regain.

If Kirsty starts putting her words in the mouths of others (#4) I am not going to be able to understand anybody!

I agree with #3 and #4. Please stop Kirsty desparately trying to put words into the mouth of interviewees.

I have to say how sick i am at the extreme negative and cynical reporting by the British
press and media on the Bejing Olympics.
The whole world is aware of the human rights issue in China and we dont have to be reminded of that fact every 30 minutes
of every single day, furthermore Britain only has to look over their shoulder and across the water to Northern Ireland at their own appaling lack of human Rights a fact that was pointed out to Kirsty Wark on the Newsnight program tonight by a chinese
representative and Kirst Wark swiftly cut him off and changed the subject, So where is the freedom of speach there?
BBC do us all a favour wind your bloody neck in and change the record and give us all a break. We all know, Cynicism is something British people do very well but your begining to sound pathetic with the same old routine and noise everyday, Let
China have there two weeks of celebration,
Britain will never come close to that kind of opening cermony, and maybe thats what is bugging you, Jealousy and envy is a terrible disease.

SOS!Hoping you can help. This is the only way it seemed I could contact you.
My partner and I run a community website which was hosted by LYCOS. They have decided to stop trading on February 28th.
They recommended STRATO to take over and we went with this.
LYCOS have fulfilled little of their obligationto transfer the website and communication with STRATO has been difficult.
The website information has not been transfered and we are threatened that LYCOS will close down on Saturday which means we are in danger of losing all our work on the sight for several years. Our account is fully paid up with LYCOS and STRATO.
Judging by our difficulty in communicating with these companies many other people are experiencing the same difficulties.
They take the money but do not provide the necessary service.
Please help!
