Sony one of 'em

Simon Mayo and myself were delighted to win the Speech Gold Award at last night's Sony Awards for our radio movie review show (five live, 3pm till 4pm every Friday) and now all we have to resolve is the small matter of whose mantelpiece it sits on. I have a view on that.

congrats on the award doc. your office looks like a scary david lynch room, like diane selwin's bedroom, or, if the floor was different, the crazy dream room in twin peaks.

I don't know... Mayo twittered that he thought he was going to keep it, and now it's in your office? I think you'd best not let out out of your sight, because that guy might steal it...

Congratulations on the award - thoroughly deserved.

Don't get too aggressive in begging your trophy off the Mayo, no matter how much you may deserve it, we don;t want another black eye now do we..

Wait a minute - does that phone have a screen on it?!?! Forget the award, you've already won the jackpot!

Also, not to be a tool, but surely (if we're obeying Japanese conventions of pronunciation) it should be So-Knee and not Sonnee.

What movie poster would you have in your office?

    Congratulations on the fantastic award!

But as the wise Captain Solo said "Great, kid. Don't get cocky". Only joking. Keep the blogs coming.

There's only one way to settle this, in the week of Star Trek I demand a Kirk/Spock Amok Time fight.
DA NA NA NANANANA NANANANA NAH!!

"Every" Friday? Well not quite, never mind splitting it in half, maybe you need to hack pieces off for Collins and the boy, King and Simon's surrogates. Hopefully the Beeb will take your broadcast a bit more seriously now. How much travel news do we really need during the hour and who ever listens to the radio for horse racing, any more? And let's have some itinerant jocks who stand in for Simon who have actually seen a recent film at the cinema once in a while [Are you listening, Beeb?]

Congratulations on the award, you guys have become an institution (and belong in one together). Thanks for all the ENtertainment over the years. Well done!

Congratulations to Drs K and M...but what award have they actually won? I thought it was a So-KNEE Award but Dr K insists on calling it a SONNY Award.

    Congrats on the award.

Now can we *please* have a longer Kermode slot on the show?

20 mins of waffle about coffee and the top 10, 30 minutes on the film Mark either really really likes or really really hates, and then 5 minutes for everything else, even if that everything else includes the film of the week.

We need more. Basic economics innit.

Mayo was rubbish on radio 1.
