Oh no, this entry is only viewable by UK users... is this a technical oversight or does this entry contain top secret UK-only anecdotes?

I may be the other side of the world, in Japan, but I still need a fix of Kermodian wit!

Indeed Brendan, what is it with these jingoistic BBC people! If they are worried over bandwidth they could put it on a file sharing nextwork and everybody else would pay for the bandwidth for them! ;)

It could be a rights issue as the clip features clips from Leigh's latest picture.

Someone I knew was going to interview Mike Leigh, and hadn't really done his research. He said "help me out, give me a question to ask", so I said "Ok, ask him how he feels taking sole scriptwriter credit on his films when the actors create the dialogue through improvisation." Actually I said it as a joke (well, a half joke) but the poor boy didn't get it, and asked it as his second or third question. ML ended the interview there. Sorry, Mike. I do think you're great, honest.
