That sounds like a nightmare. Personally I would be booing both boneo and Q Tip. Just saw Grindhouse double bill and it was horrible, disgusting (but not in the way it was intended) and smug. I suppose the same can be said for boneo and U2.

    Keep the faith.

    Stick to your guns Mark!

It may feel like you're singing a kid's song with actions but the standing up and sitting on your hands is worth it.

It is just like anyone who has been to a political party conference when everyone stands up for the leader - keep up or as it may be, keep sitting down, the good work

Surely we can hear your Indiana Jones review on five live friday afternoon?

Don't say someone else is going to review it!

It does seem extremely difficult to make it known that you are protesting at one thing and yet want to clap the other. I suppose the idea of bundling celebs together like this is supposed to do that - probably so the kids think "Bono/QT like these old geezers so I'll check their work out"! Unfortunately for anyone who already knew and loved Friedkin or Allen it just feels like they've been jumped on by these hangers on who are wanting a bit of the limelight by proxy (especially in QTs situation where a case could be made that all of the really good bits in his films come from other films) and are muscling in on what should be Friedkin's and Allen's moment! (From the way you describe Bono jumping into shot it seems like he deserved to have been punched the second time he did it!)

Surely Simon promised that Mark would phone home from Cannes? Or perhaps Mark will waffle on about how he hates Cannes for the whole hour, eh Mark? ;-)

I think in a situation like this, you should applaud more than anyone else in the room, but not look like you're enjoying it.
