    Alright Motty.

I think the Dutch will get to the final. But I really cannot see past Spain. They have got the results without stepping up and peaking. I fear for Germany, I think Spain have the intelligence and experience to oust them. Holland V Spain will be a European spectacle of a final, but I think this Spainish team are tough to beat. Even the game they lost in the group stage against Switzerland was lucky. Spain dominated. They were very unlucky to not get a draw at least.

Spain will be the first team to lose their opening game and win the WC.

    England Fan.

    I hope it's a Germany v Uruguay final.

Why? It's simple.. Germany have been the best team by far in this tournament, they know when to peak at the right time and play lovely attacking football, and as for Uruguay, well it's more interesting for an unfancied underdog to make it, they have a great team spirit and prove that having "world class superstar primadonas" isnt necessarily the way forward.

Spain have been good but not great, they play nice stuff but rely to heavily on 1 man, Villa.
Holland have been efficient but average, nothing more.

    so germany 2 - 1 spain
holland 1 - uruguay 1 ( uruguay win on pens)

final score... not bothered, happy either way

Uruguay vs Germany final in my opinion. I dont think the Spanish have been impressive and the Germans are young and full of running, their endeavour and passing has exploited gaps in defences that other teams could not

As a United fan I enjoy seeing Forlan doing so well, but my head says Germany for the WC and so does my wallet with a tasty £50 straight on them to win it!!

    Come on Germany!!!!

I think Uruguay will beat The Netherlands but I really hope I'm wrong. The Netherlands have arguably underachieved on their potential in previous world cups, and i think the arguments within the team will arrive.

Again i hope Spain will beat Germany, as I like their players, but having seen Germany's performances against Argentina and England, and Spain's performances so far in this world cup, I think Germany are the greater team.

I would really love the Netherlands to win. They have played attractive football & have great players such as Robben & Schneider, but I think Germany will beat Spain & go on to win. They just seem to know how do well in tournaments. In the past they have got to finals with what all the pundits considered a rubbish team.

Uruguay shouldn't even be there. The ref should simply have awarded a goal because the ball went over the line. It wouldn't have been the worst decision at this World Cup. Holland v. Ghana would have been an interesting game. As it is, the Cloggies will win comfortably.
In the other game, Spain seem to be under the misapprehension that they're playing handball. The hypnotic (literally "sending to sleep")Spanish cobra will come up against the German mongoose (which, apparently is "Mungo" in that language. Lends a whole new dimension to Mungo Jerry, as it were).

I really like Uruguay. Forlan and (even the cheating) Suarez are great players and for a nation of under 3.5 million people to be doing so well is one hell of an achievement. Trouble is I like the Dutch even more and have liked them since I was a kid. Nevertheless, although the Dutch will be favourites, Uruguay will be no push over.

As for the other semi, although Germany have been mighty impressive, unlike before, everyone now knows how seriously they must be taken, including Spain. Plus, Spain's defence is better organised than Argentina's, so this is a tough game to call.

    2. Both Germany and Uruguay have won the world cup before...it would be nice for someone to show that there are new countries willing to win.
    3. I certainly hope urguay donot win because I like to think of myself as European.
    4. Spain have shown, in my opinion, the most fluid and well paced football of the tornament as opposed to the effficient a ruthless german play.
    5. The germans have only even reached the semis because evey team they have played against have been masively off form except serbia, who unserprisingly one. Germany are good at sniffing weakness but have only reached this point on others failings, not their sucesses in my opinion.
    6. Uruguay have had prehaps the easiest path to the final in world cup history
    7. No team who can only draw with the worst french team ever deserves to win the world cup.
8! The most important of all! If URUGUAY HADN@T CHEATED BY HANDBALLING THE BALL OFF THE LINE THEY WOULDNT EVEN BE HERE!

..couldn't agree with that comment more and I'd love English referee Howard Webb to award the Dutch some 'PAYBACK' for Jack Taylor giving Germany a first minute penalty back in '74! (wouldn't that be funny after what the Germans said regarding Lampard's goal).

Strangely, I had Holland down as my winners on the BBC's predictor table from the start (maybe I have Octopus genes?) - problem is how to suppress the natural urge to support Spain in knocking Germany out in the semi first, thus spoiling the chance...it's a bit of a conundrum isn't it!?
