Wales' newest comedy star: Lembit Opik?
Lembit Opik was often the subject of the occasional snigger during his time as MP for Montgomeryshire, be it for his 'cheeky' relationship choices or interest in asteroids.
But last night he attempted to get people laughing with him rather than at him as he embarked on a new career path as a comedian.
Opik performed at the Backstage Comedy Club, a modest-sized venue near London's West End, complete with yellow rosette. During the routine he introduced the world to his bizarre attempt at ventriloquism with a shoe - creatively titled Mr Shoe.
