SEE HEAR: Wednesday 7th October 1pm BBC TWO

SH Line Producer | 10:50 UK time, Tuesday, 6 October 2009

This week See Hear is back on the Coronation Street cobbles to meet Deaf actress Ali Briggs as she finishes her second stint on the show.

Her character Freda fits into the grand tradition of feisty female characters on the soap, and Ali explains how Freda's deafness has been blended into the plotlines rather than presented as an "issue". Co-star Bill Tarmey, who plays Jack Duckworth, reveals that he's adjusting to hearing loss. After many years of trying to ignore his increasing hearing loss, he's turned a corner and revealed all...

Radha Manjeshwar rolls up her sleeves to learn First Aid skills on a BSL-accessible course run by the British Red Cross. They also have a range of signed first aid videos available online here.

We're also investigating the One and Other installation on the 4th Plinth in Trafalgar Square - is it art or is it a fad? We followed Deaf Irish woman Gillian O'Hagan onto the plinth to find out more. The One and Other project is running for one more week. You can still watch each of the 'performances' live via the website: http://www.oneandother.co.uk
