One of the films which has Oscar potential written all over it is 'The Prophet' which is out on the 22nd January. It's already won four awards and is France's official entry for foreign language film at the Oscars. It's basically the French Godfather. So if you're in the mood for a art-housey gangster flick, this could be the one for you next year. It's the story of 19 year old Malik who arrives in jail friendless and alone with no-one to protect him.

It's directed by Jacques Audiard, the bloke behind the much loved 'The Beat That My Heart Skipped', and the film was the winner of this year's Grand Prix at Cannes and Best Film at the London Film Festival. James King says, "Tres bon. Experience something special when A Prophet opens." Here are some pictures from it.
