Welcome to the new blogs

Hi everyone and welcome to the new blogs for BBC Learning English!

This is just a quick blog to let you know about our new system and why we have changed it.

At BBC Learning English we use a lot of different technical systems which are supplied by different parts of the BBC. From time to time these systems are updated and sometimes they are closed down. There are also new systems which are introduced.

Our existing blogging software was getting very old and is being turned off, so we needed to change to a new system.

Don't worry, all our previous blogs from students, teachers and staff are still available to see following the links in the right hand column. Unfortunately it will no longer be possible to add any more comments to the old blogs.

We hope you will still contribute to our new blogs but there is one important difference. To leave comments now you have to register and get a BBC ID. This is free to do. Once you have a BBC ID you can leave comments on any BBC blogs or message boards, not just Learning English. If you already contribute to our message boards, you will already have an ID, so you won't need to register again.

If you have any questions about the new blogs, you can leave a comment on this blog or email us: learningenglish@bbc.co.uk

Best wishes and happy blogging!

Callum

    Hi Callum,

    How are you!

I have been trying to make friends with this new-look blog. First day I had a strange feeling, second day was much better... I think, I need some time to get used to it. :) but I am sure with time I will love it.

Dear Callum, I hope you do not mind if I ask you about your family. How is your little James? He is almost one-year old, isn't? How is going the adventure of parenthood?

Looking forward to hearing from you. In the meantime, take care!

    Hello Callum,

How are you? Nice to meet you in this blog.

I have known BBC Leaning English's Website for 5 years after my close friend introducing it to me. Since having access to the website, my English ability has improved rapidly, particularly in reading and listening skill. However, I have struggled to enhanced my English writing because no having many programs on this website to practise it.

I have learnt you from listening Talk About English program, where you are a presenter. I am very impressive on your voice. In particular, your pronunciation is clear which is easy to follow and understand the story. To be honest, my writing skill is not fluent so far. I would like to take this opportunity to post on this blog to practise in writing as well as receive a piece of advice from you to improve my writing ability. Hopefully hearing your comments in the future.

I look forward to hearing news from you

    Regards,

    Hello Dear Calum and Moderators,
I'm just now accidentally deleted my old username details. Could you attach my early comments with my new username "Emat_idem" details? Now appear on my display "Emat wrote" instead "you wrote". Thank you.
    Regards,
    Emat
