Sara and Scott, thank you for making my long suffering Eurovision sceptic boyfriend suddenly take an interest!! Your involvement has meant a lot less bribery this year! Could you give us a Boom-Boom Chaka-Chaka shout out and let him know how much I love him?

    Mark and Cian

Hey Scott and Sara! Any chance of a shout out to my wonderful girlfriend Natalie and Skippy the 3-legged cat? Both are big fans - especially Skippy, who normally dances around in circles to the songs! From Sam in Rochester.

Hiya Scott & Coxy :o) So I spent several woman hrs last night (I have kids & don't get out much) listening to all 43 entries.... I KNOW!!! Obviously I am bi-passing the semi's and predicting my Top10 :- Italy France UK Slovenia Albania Germany Slovakia Austria Belgium & Georgia. The bloke from the Swedish entry, I really don't condone violence but at the very least I wanna rip his sunnies off and stamp on 'em!! We'll be havin' a top girlie Euorvision night party on Satdee... Can't wait, yay.

  • Comment number 6.

Hello Scott, whilst it's a shame to lose Paddy as a commentator may I welcome you to the BBC Three Eurovision Fold, could you please make a shout out to me Daniel Wright in Nuneaton (been trying every year via email to Paddy and Sara with my comments after each song)
I can't wait for Sweden's entry (I'm just hoping they've improved from their rehearsals) and to see what Blue are going to pull out of the hat.

  • Comment number 7.

Hey Scott and Sara, Finland are my favourite from the first semi final and i'll be voting for them tonight!

Please give me a shout out!

  • Comment number 8.

I have a university exam the morning after the first semi-final but Eurovision always comes first! The only two people I know who tolerate my Euro-obsession are my good friends Karissa Adams and Ailie Crerar - if you could give them a shout-out they'll put up with me for at least another year! :P

    Thanks

    Martin Leng

Welcome to Eurovision, Scott and Sara.

This is my 30th contest (I've been watching it since I was 9!). Could you please give a mention to my wife, Gabriella. She's from Budapest and votes for Hungary every year they compete, whether they are good or bad! Happily, this year they are good, and Kati Wolf has one of the best entries (if she can sing live!)

    John from Glasgow

Hi guys, can you please say hi to all the people I have turned into dribbling wrecks with my "Joxer's Top 50 Eurovision Countdown" on Facebook.
I've managed to amuse and annoy in equal doses loads of people from the 4 corners of the globe from Australia to Alaska and everywhere in between and I wish to thank them all for putting up with my "Digglays" and "boom bang a bangs" every day, twice a day for the last 3 weeks

Hi Scott, hi Sara, welcome on board!!

I have been a EuroManiac for 35 years (Brotherhood of Man won in my maiden year), so for that display of persistence alone I deserve a Shout Out!!

    Lots of love,

  • Comment number 36.

O I'm a bit of an a**e - should have mentioned that we're obviously watching both semis, and having a party on Saturday. You'll be pleased to know that everyone has to come as a racial stereotype - the offensive theme will be 'Cabaret' if you get my drift... :)

    Hi Scott and Sara,

Please could you give a huge shout out to Duncan and David in Cardiff. It’s our first Eurovision in our new home - the living room is decked out with European flags, balloons and fairy lights, and the bubbly is chilling in the fridge ready for the first semi-final tomorrow. We’re so excited, we might spontaneously combust!!!

Oh, and come on Blue – you can do it!! :)

  • Comment number 46.

Hey guys! I have my emotional investment in France this year, what an amazing song and I hope It will be Paris for next year!

    Stephen, Scotland

  • Comment number 47.

    Hello Scott & Sara,

My fiancée and I will be watching the semi-finals in build up to the final on the weekend. For tonight's show we’ll be sampling some drinking game rules – the ones we used last year turned out to be a bit too hardcore with the drinking penalties incurred from that wind machine Norway kept using!

Aled & Kat off of Newport

  • Comment number 48.

    Hi Scott and Sara
Please could you give Pad and Laurence Dartmouth a shout out - having a mini eurovion party tonight. On Thursday we'll be watching on a tiny hotel tv screen (hopefully!!) en route to Dusseldorf - Saturday night we'll be in the arena cheering on Blue!! go UK!!!

  • Comment number 49.

We'll be watching the first semi final instead of revising for our neuroscience exam tomorrow, cheering on Hungary, Albania and Iceland. Putting the revision into eurovision!

Patrick, Pia, Ryan and Christian in Edinburgh

  • Comment number 50.

    Hi Scott and Sara
Please could you give a big shout out to Barbara and Andrew from Tamworth.
We are both total Eurovision nuts and the event is (sadly) the highlight of our year. Also, this seems like a good opportunity to tell the world about Andrew's fixation with the Swedish entrant, Eric Saade. The man's obsessed. Barely a day has passed over the previous couple of months when I've not been subjected to the song at least 20 times. Grounds for divorce maybe? ;)

  • Comment number 51.

Hola and buenas noches from Spain, please can you give a big shout out to Dan and Aoife. We're watching the semi-final in Santiago de Compostela, Spain and want to say hi to all our friends and family at home. PS we'll be voting for Blue on Saturday!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Comment number 52.

    Hi Scott and Sarah,

Wishing you luck on your first commentary outing for the eurovision song contest & good luck to Blue on Friday and Saturday night.

  • Comment number 53.

    Hey Scott & Sara

In honour of Hungary's deserved stunning victory at this year's Eurovision, we'll be eating goulash on Saturday night. But just in case France manage to make it a second consecutive win for the Big 5, we're also having raclette. We know they don't really go together, but that's not the point is it?

Fingers crossed it's all moot however and that Blue swipe all before them.

Gary, Jamie & Dan (Highbury, London)

  • Comment number 54.

Infamous cabaretniks EastEnd Cabaret are infiltrating the legendary cultural institution that is the Eurovision Song Contest with their own revolutionary anthem, Stand Up & Touch Yourself.

Part-disco booty shaker, part-faux communist march, Bernadette Byrne & Victor Victoria plan to mobilise the masses with a simple message: sex is the Great Equalizer, but you must know yourself intimately before others can know (or touch) you.

This Eurotastic extravaganza will prove that the UK has chosen the wrong musical ambassadors for their 2011 Eurovision entry - forget Blue, think red and support EastEnd Cabaret as your Alternative Eurovision Champions!

  • Comment number 81.

Come back Paddy all is forgiven... Oh sorry, I forgot, you didn't do anything wrong, you've just been 'refreshed' into 2 people who know a fraction of what you do about EV, and with the combined charisma of dental floss. Roll on 2012 with presenters 'Jedward'!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Sara and Scott. My son Jack McLean is 11 years old and is a year round fan of Eurovision. He knows every fact about the contest there is to know! I would love to surprise him with a mention as we watch the semi-final together in Dundee. We both loved Norway's entry and they looked like they were having fun on stage. Good luck to Blue from us both!!

  • Comment number 85.

I must admit that by the normally low standards of eurovision so far this show has set a new low, I gave up during the first item

  • Comment number 86.

As usual eurovision mixes the theatrical with the slightly scary. I may now need to take solace in red wine to get me through!

  • Comment number 87.

Wonders how many 'green' songs there are this year?

  • Comment number 88.

I normally don't watch the semi finals but I'm glad I did this year, you could miss some of these acts. Also, Age Guess: 43 I think

  • Comment number 89.

    Where has Paddy gone?!

  • Comment number 90.

Dear Scot! I think you should do the commentating for all the shows every year.. Good sports. Looking forward to the 2nd Semi Final. :)
Oh by the way Stefan Raab is not really the german vernon kay not even close he is more like the german television version of chris moyles I think. I have to warn you Stefan Raab in Germany is still twice as big as those two.
