Back to work for just the one day and already...

Chris Evans | 10:16 UK time, Tuesday, 28 July 2009

... the mad dreams have come back.

Last night I dreamt I was playing golf with Tiger Woods and John Daly. We were all square going on to the eighteenth - Tiger hadn't said a word to either of us whereas John could not have been nicer.

The two of them had teed off and now it was my turn - all I had to do was get it on the fairway, something I had been doing for the whole of the rest of the round but every time I stepped up to take my shot - my head fell off.

As this kept happening John was finding it harder and harder to hold in the laughter, whereas Tiger was becoming increasingly impatient. I decided to try one more time but once again as I addressed the ball...for no reason at all my head fell off.

Even John had had enough by now and called Tiger to play on without me. All I remember is the crowd all walking by my head and my two golfing heroes striding off to complete the round without me.

I looked to my body for some support but it just held its hands out as if to ask what the hell was I playing at - then I woke up.

Who needs sleep like that ?

Have a nice day.

    Morning Chris,

What a weird dream, very strange indeed. Is anyone on the blog a dream interpreter?

Try not to loose your head today Chris! It was great to have you back on the radio last night.

    Morning all

Where's your head at now CLP! Hopefully well and truly on your body. That dream is enough to give the heebies jeebies.

Was great to hear your dulcit(sp) tones again last night. The ironing was done in double quick time AND tea dinner was cooking at the same time!

Sun is out atm here in Norfamps - hope it lasts the day.

    Howdie Christophe ....

I'm kinda wondering ...... did you have a secret yearning to be Worzel Gummidge in your yoof? Many heads to suit whichever mood?!?!?

I too had a weird dream last night, that kept me awake from about 4am. In the real world, I'm having dinner tomorrow night with a very good friend at a local pub. In my dream, she kept telling me off, lecturing me, getting all righteous over me and saying I'm a bad bad girl.

    What's THAT all about?!?!?

    Laters sweetpeas.

Sounds to me like you need to lay off the cheese and biscuits before bed Chris. My other half always has dreams like that when he eats feta cheese.

  • Comment number 9.

deevs - are you a bad girl?

CLP - no idea about your dream - are you feeling insecure about something?

Day going from bad to worse and I know there is bad news waiting for me at home - ho hum

  • Comment number 10.

    Morning lovelies.

First off, let me send big hugs to {{{{{{{Hazel}}}}}}}} for being poorly. My herbal medicine bible says that you should eat lots of oatmeal, muesli and yoghurt, and take l-lysine, 500mg twice daily. You can also dab on diluted tea tree oil. anyway, hope you're on the mend sweetheart.

I'm jolly tired this morning. Need a holiday to get over the holiday.

I too had a bizarre dream in which I made peace with my dad (who's been dead for nearly 30 years) - strange but good.

    Hello all

I have been absent for very long time. So very sorry, I know I prob wasn't missed as don't write lots anyway, but not even been on to check up on you all! and now a brand new strange looking blog?!

CLP - fantastic to have you back. And your dream story today just made me laugh so much! A very visual pic in my head now of your head lying on the tee, and all around life carried on as normal! Is this what it means...you have lost your head while all around you carry on as normal?!

Anyway, hello to all and I've missed you. Good to see the regs are still here and some newbies too.

ps CLP loved the pics yesterday. don't you just love Scotland?!x

    Hi All

Great to have you back last night Christophe - its not the same without you. Goodness only knows what that dream means - I thought I had some weird ones but I don't think my heads ever fallen off!

A belated welcome back and a shiny new blog, i have been away from things. Busy busy here at for the 'young' thrusting Auditor. Trying to get things all sorted before we head off on our summer hols this weekend. Vegas baby! Well with a bit of camping, pacific coasting LA'ing thrown in for good measure. Can't wait. Love staff travel ;-)

  • Comment number 16.

just started to tell people I'm leaving work - seeing as I go in about a month - but have a nearly two week break in the middle of that - have lots to do - but I'm so glad I'm going ;-)

  • Comment number 17.

Awww, thanks Darce! Think I don't need to lose my head in dreams....it goes off wandering every day.....

  • Comment number 18.

I can't interpret dreams, but I do believe that dream of yours was your subconscious "catching up" with the fantastic experience you had at the Open this year. Can't explain why your head would fall off though - wonder if Baggy had a point with her post #9?

And, Baggy, hope things are ok for you - not as bad as it seems.

TipTopWestie: 8 hours sleep - you lucky thing, you! I managed 4 hours last night and that was something of a miracle. Woke up at 2.30am and then spent the next four hours worrying about everything - even stuff that is nothing to do with me!

CLP, good to have you back, and sorry to hear about the loss of your head.
I heard you play Pop Goes the Weasle last night, and it went round in my head for hours. Would have given anything to take my head off !!!! LOL
So glad you are back, but could you have a word about this new blog please ?

Hello! Have you missed me? :-)

Having a quick break for some lunch and thought that I would pop in and say hi.

I am, so far, managing to keep my head....first day doing full time hours for my new role today. And LM is having a great time at his new childminders house. Hurray!

Down to just one day a week at the hospital now for another two weeks, then couple therapy. Eeek!!

    Deb x

  • Comment number 23.

    Hi Debs,

Well done, good to see you back! Glad its all going well so far and that you got LM settled with a good childminder. Wish you best of luck with couple therapy - eeek indeed, I'd find that one tough!!

Dreamer - my heads all over the place as well - perhaps thats the meaning of CLP's dream - he knows exactly where his head is!

    Darce x

  • Comment number 24.

Hello Debbie - of course we've missed you. Glad things are working out for you. It must help you also to know that LM is happy. Keep up the good work.

I interpret that dream means you forgot to do something reallly important!

Now then was it that you forgot to give us a guest blogger while you were away,or...maybe that you forgot to give us a mention on last nights show (if you did,I missed it)

One of there is still redeemable.

I will be all ears at 5.05 in anticipation.

    Afternoon each..

Heads falling off..we have a dream book somewhere here at work,i`ll see if i can fish it out and see if it is mentioned...truly bizarre CLP!

I have had a recurring dream since i was a child. I am chased by a fox across country,i keep running and it keeps almost catching me,then as it gets me i wake up..normally breathing hard and very hot and sweaty! Weird!

Anyhoo..not sure what to make of yours Deevs.. no comment is probably safest!

Dreamer and M&W and everyone else returning, good to see you back..

Rest of ya.. HELLLLOOOO!!! There, that`ll wake the sleepy ones up!

    mSc x

PS - if anyone has a Wii then a word of warningn...dont buy the new Sports resort game..its totally addictive and things like ironing, tidying up, eating and sleeping will be forgotten about... *walks off to find a life*... x

  • Comment number 29.

Aw cheers! Getting LM settled was paramount, and so far so good. Couple therapy is the scarey bit now! Not sure where that one will go.

MTF, when it comes to decadence I paid £50 to have my oven and grill cleaned professionally on Saturday...how bad is that?

It takes me 5 hours to get mine to perfection.

Then I say I will wipe it out after every use.

4 weeks on.....back to the 5 hour clean.

  • Comment number 32.

Good to see you on here Debs, I was only thinking of you this morning as "Shine" came on my ipod and also yesterday as I purchased some of your scrummy crumpets. Keep up the good work, you are doing just fine xx

I like the new blog now.

It seems to have speeded up a lot in the last few days.

I know we still have the 20 second delay thing, but the rest of it seems to be faster.

  • Comment number 35.

    Hi Beez! x

MTF too right do they earn every penny! In fact I might not use the oven for a little while just so that I get my moneys worth :-)

Ali, thank you! Have that song in my head now.

  • Comment number 40.

And no is not a slob...in fact a slob I is not!!!

Used to have to iron all the time in a previous life. One that involved smartly pressed blouses, shirts for him etc....

Now more easy care clothes worn for different job role.

Talking of which..Time to flap my wings.

    Have a lovely afternoon all.

Scooby thanks for the heads up also hi to all non cooker cleaners, you can't beat having the nice man coming in and leaving you with a sparkly new oven - I use o**n c***n it's a national lot.

Scooby I was looking at getting a Wii with a sporty program you obviously recommend it?

Deb you sound so much better, well done you.

We only put our house on the market last week and it's just been sold OMG!!! Better find somewhere for my son to live quick. Anybody know of a nice property in Cardiff area?

  • Comment number 43.

MTF - Good philosophy re the ironing. Don't think it would work on blokes shirts tho. Could maybe teach him to do his own, but then he might ask me to clean the smell drain out, which he had to do last evening!!! On second thoughts I'll stick to ironing!!

Debs2 - fingers crossed the work thing works for you too..sounds promising, i`m sure you`ll impress them no end.

  • Comment number 48.

Would someone explain the Wii thing please?

Is it meant to be just for fun or to get fit or both? I tried the golf one at a friend's house and, well, just how exciting can it get? Perhaps, I needed to play whole round to 'get the benefit'. I know people talk very excitedly about them and just wondered if some kind person would fill me in please.

    Thank you very much

  • Comment number 49.

Thanks Pen - I was bored!!

Beany - Glad you asked, I was wondering that as well. Is it good for Bingo wings Scoobs?

    Darce xx

  • Comment number 50.

Beany..i have never been a `games` person but we bought a Wii 2 weeks ago and its a fab piece of kit. You can get keep fit packages, games (like scrabble etc), sports stuff, music and loads of other things..the list really is endless.

I was a bit sceptical at first but the sports one has won me over. The golf etc seems a bit faffy at first but once you get into it, trying to hit the ball straight, beat your score etc is strangely addictive..well in Scoobs world anyway! Think it also helps that i seem to beat my GM on most things weve played so far!

So, if you want a bit of fun it can be that..but i also know people who have lost weight by doing the `fit` thing on it. Seems to be a good alround machine imho.

Dont know if that helps but thats my thoughts..!

    mSc x

  • Comment number 51.

Talking of Bingo wings - has he flown away? Where are you Bingles? INDEED, we are missing your posts!!

    Pen xx

  • Comment number 52.

Darce..yes! My arm aches all over..including the bit underneath to which you refer! And you dont even feel like you are excersising either..bonus! hee hee..

    mSc x

  • Comment number 53.

Thanks Scoobs. Yes it does help.

I am very competitive....apparently ;-) so it sounds like the sort of thing I could get hooked on, although as a (once) sporty type, its hard to think that you can beat the real thing. But I guess you have the option of trying a variety of different things without having to buy the kit, pay the subs, etc, etc. I will investigate further! Does the loser buy the next round though???

  • Comment number 54.

i got a wii and a wiifit for my birthday in Dec, being able to monitor my weight and have half hour sessions really helped in losing weight as I could keep an eye on it and it records everything you do which makes oyu want to beat yourself!

Morning and afternoon everyone from sunny upstate new you. Off shortly for my interview today. It's about a 2 hour drive from my house so it's going to be a long day. I would say that your dream is a manifistation of your inner turmoil regarding who you are and where you want to be.

Golf is a great love of your life and so provides the background. The two other players are metaphors for the two extremes in your life.

John Daley the big hitting, hard drinkinking, womanisinng gambler is the old you who used to hit the headlines for all the wrong reasons.

Tiger Woods the sensible quiet and dignified athlete is the new you, settled, married and with a new baby.

However somewhere inside you are still torn between the two, you want to be Tiger Woods, but there is still still a bit of John Daley inside somewhere who is dying to get out, thus your head falls of in frustration.

She told me she worked in the morning and started to laugh.
I told her I didn't and crawled off to sleep in the bath
And when I awoke, I was alone, this bird had flown
So I lit a fire, isn't it good, norwegian wood
