  • Comment number 1.

Tom's wall of dreams - Copy and zoom time.

  • Comment number 2.

    Bless,

  • Comment number 3.

For some reason Tom's story hits the hardest with his "Teachers Pet" picture his desire for an education the fact he is aware that he lacks this part of growing up.

  • Comment number 4.

I have pictures of Lenora Crichlow & Zooey Deschanel on my wall. I think Tom's fantasy is much more realistic!!

  • Comment number 5.

    hm...Tom wants old-man-shoes?

  • Comment number 6.

Mostly either family (especially dads), dogs, school/uni, friends and couples/women. Look at the shelf below - toy soldiers and train-set pieces, probably left over from Mitchell's occupancy. Poor Tom, could he do a fast-track-to-uni course? Then again, what would his subject be? Maybe History if he got Hal to help, but Hal was stoned on blood for a lot of the past 500 years...

  • Comment number 7.

Hes never been on holiday bless him

  • Comment number 8.

Phew! I'm in! I thought Ewan had locked the door!

Here you go RentAGhost - you have these skates now.

Awww... What a great pic! So if this is a clue (NO SPOILERS) then this Ep might be a bit more about Tom as well as Adam.

  • Comment number 9.

oh yes, holidays too, forgot that, damn

I wonder what birthdays in the Pink House and the Barbershop Trio Flat were like? Too much tea and enough food to burst an elephant from Annie (and George to some extent, to make sure everything was perfect) in the Pink House, so even Mitchell's appetite (which could handle a 12" Mess of Meats and a whole box of Golden Grahams - all carb-heavy and very filling) would be challenged; Hal wouldn't enjoy the disruption to his routine (or the flashbacks to his previous birthdays, when he mostly got drunk and went out for a massacre and a kebab with his cronies) but maybe he got a few extra dominoes each year or something.

  • Comment number 10.

He wants a puppy? There was a kennell in the garden.

  • Comment number 11.

Romance, family and holidays...overall a normal life...the whole suburbian white-picketfence-lifestyle...not very likely, poor Tom

  • Comment number 12.

What is the one picture that is still destroyed it's still on the side waiting to be restored.

  • Comment number 13.

    Awww, :(
Family, romance, holiday, education, a car, a house and a pet doggy. Hope Tom manages to achieve his wall of dreams.

Interesting whats on the fireplace though, the box and tunnel shaped blocks and the toy train. The two groups of soldiers at war, uniforms from different eras.

It also looks like he got some chocolate after all!

  • Comment number 14.

I think the train and soldier sets are probably relics from Mitchell's stay in that room.

  • Comment number 15.

Yeah I think Tom wants to be Don Draper! Some kind of power couple in the 'burbs with 2 kids and a golden retriever -my heart beaks for him! Hopefully he'll settle down into the little HH family, I'm pretty sure he's fallen into big brother role for Eve, Hal's the father figure (he's old enough!)

  • Comment number 16.

Ah, the ring Leo gave to Pearl! I miss them

  • Comment number 17.

    12. you mean next to the coffee mug? isnt that a bag of cola cubes?

  • Comment number 18.

I thought it was so cute when Hal started putting Tom's pictures back on the wall after Tom had ripped them off. And when Tom started teasing him about "that one's not straight". *lol* I don't think it's even physically possible for Hal to NOT put it up straight. ;)

But it showed how much Hal had started caring for him in his own way, as well as that he told Annie about Tom's birthday. Aawww, I just love those two.

  • Comment number 19.

    could be

  • Comment number 20.

d'you reckon the "old timey" looking cutouts(the shoes, some of the car ads and the barclays ad) were given to him by Leo? they look very 50s and the paper's yellowed. I say Leo because I doubt Hal would let him go scrap-book hunting through his stuff!

  • Comment number 21.

@lycan666 You asked on the last blog. The song is "We are f**cking angry" by The King Blues

  • Comment number 22.

    yES, gOOD Job Hal
you put them back properly and Leo is just at the ight height, plus the old man ashoes- father's or grandfather shoes
shoes kids like o try on and pretend they are grown up, plus the mode is rather elegant, tom wants a barrister wife and a labrador, tom wants a posh life
and even if McNair ate his parents , he may have an aunt, a grandmother...

imagining a rather grand family discovering their missing Alastair Algernon Thomas Bassington-Ffoulkes under the guise of out Tom- Tom would discover quickly grand names do not always have big hearts

  • Comment number 23.

That is so sweet. I love Tom. I hope he finds a suitable flower and then he can be a bee and they can live happily ever after.
@Sasha: Maybe I won't give him the Philip Larkin poem after all...

  • Comment number 24.

We don't know his real name but Nina must have found it along with the other info about him on the police database. I wonder whether she ever told him what it was?

  • Comment number 25.

    21. Thanks Thelonia - think it mentions "blood suckers" will have a listen

    22. Stx - would be nice if Tom found a long lost Aunt who thought he was still alive.

Think he should get a Doggy - would need to a Big one so it wont freak Hal out.
    - do vamps have a fear of normal dogs? (not our Toms type).

  • Comment number 26.

Does anybody know what those red zylinders on the fireplace are? (next to the toy train)

  • Comment number 27.

    26. part of a skittles type game I think.
See the Fathers day pic? he still needs a father figure to guide him
    - Wander where he keeps his bomb making stuff?

  • Comment number 28.

There are quite a few holiday related dreams on his wall, do you think we will ever get an episode where our new family goes on holiday?

I would love to see them go on holiday somewhere :)

  • Comment number 29.

    @lycan
would you know I wrote a fiction about Tom finding his aunt yes on the maternal side and she gives him a mercedes! I seem to remember, if by anychance tom fnds his aunt, I shall faint!!!

  • Comment number 30.

    couldn't be a camping-holiday though because Hal can't sleep in a tent...or a caravan *g*

@lycan 666 sorry, I've got no idea what skittles are but I'm googling it now :)

  • Comment number 31.

    27 - Lycan - ROFL!

I think the one of the Teacher's Pet is definitely Tom's ideal Woman - it's his 'Pin Up Poster'

Okay - hands up - how many people have already searched for Cullis Adventure Holidays? *hangs head*

  • Comment number 32.

    @lycan
    facts we know

the cage was filmed in a derelict swimming pool

the first and fourth and eight episode of season 3 are supposedly showing werewolves fighting in a cage in a derelict swimming pool where vamps hold bet and certainly the mcnair prequel with herrick showed the same pool though lookinhg a tad perkier

we know tom is planning to build a swimming pool- where in the HH backgarden???? with plenty of rubber tubbing!!

my guess is that he is cunningly planting plenty of rubber tubes inside the said cage when the vamps are not there because they have no more werewolves to play with and he plans some big action at one point making them believe they can have anothert 'dog' fight , tom can be ready to play kamikaze , he could...

imagining well concealed tubes ready to sprinkle oil on vampires and then just that... just a match and all goes kaboom.... fire and mr snow????

  • Comment number 33.

*accepts roller-skates from MancVamp with pleased smile then struggles with laces* Thankyou!

Do we reckon this was before or after Hal put them back up? Because some of those are definitely not straight! (Not that I obsess about stuff like that at all...)

@SAINTIXE56 I've considered the whole bomb burnt arm thing too... maybe Hal isn't the one the scroll referred to...

  • Comment number 34.

    @opositiv

interesting comment, we know from mitchell that vampires do not look at vans or cars or caravans as proper houses then they can enter the said caravan without being invited in

what if Hal comments about said caravan meant he needs a proper roof to sleep in? but then Mitchell was able to sleep in the volvo before he went to purgatory??

yet, I wonder if it is not relevant somewhere in the Hal story/very long 522ys prequel I have calculated s how Hal was born in 1486!!!

and during the discussion wwith Tom about the ever confusing issue of womenfolk ... tom arguing he wants to find his girl and Hal somehow agreeing, if there is not something hidden about HAL IN THAT SEQUENCE BUT AGAIN HE HAS HAD AT LEAST 3 IF NOT 4 SIGNIFICANT women but no Josies in his past, yet those women meant a lot to him

  • Comment number 35.

@SAINTIXE56 maybe Hal just doesn't like camping? ^.^ I could totally understand that...but other vampires just beeing able to enter your tent is kinda disturbing so that could be a part of it, too.

  • Comment number 36.

    @rentaghost
I need to have a look at the war child scroll the two REGUS-SCROLLS and two+one fw-scrolls
i THINK WE NEED TO USE WHAT WE KNOW
hence reading right to left in to a spiral but is it the spiral inside out or outside in???

  • Comment number 37.

    32. Stx you now how to keep your WWs happy - THANKS!

    - also, this may add to the Burnt arm theory/s

Havent read your Toms Aunty tale - have u got a link please?
    - Imagine shes an olde Cornish Maid who will fill the boy up proper with Pasties and Saffron cake

  • Comment number 38.

I think Hal just needs the carpets and central heating and Radio 4 to maintain his Rota - without which, goodbye South Wales (and that sweet smile that makes me want to give him a cup of tea).

  • Comment number 39.

What if they have to Go on the run, camping in the woods; Tom will have to look after Hal (Does a WW ***t in the woods, OCD vampires do it at 2oclock.. haha)

  • Comment number 40.

34 - I applaud your mathematical prowess! I'd love to get into all that ancient vampire rules and quirks, for the BH universe anyway. Are we fairly sure Hal was born in England? Because if he was born in England in the 1486 HAL COULD HAVE BEEN SHAKESPEARE OR JACK THE RIPPER! Probably a whole host of other people too "I have been so many people since then. Some cruel ...some kind" :D

P.S. Stilll find it odd that Wyndham was gotten rid of so easily, he was twice as old and twice as sinister as our lord harry...

  • Comment number 41.

If they go on the run, Hal stays in hotels or there will be a devastating massacre!

  • Comment number 42.

41- a0k666 I think Hal's got the best excuse ever. What ever he wants to do he'll just blame it on "managing his condition" :)

Has anyone else been wondering what they'd put up on their "wall of dreams" ?

  • Comment number 43.

    Hal in a hotel
    ... IMAGINING....

I would like to lodge a complaint; the toasts were no cut precisely at an angle of 90 degrees plus the butter rectangle shape left somewhat to be desired as for the tea water it was not properly hot. warm yes, hot not. Finally there was no organic jam and my newspaper had not been ironed.

  • Comment number 44.

@SAINTIXE56 *lol* nice image that...he would drive the manager to suicide, or homicide, possibly vampicide?

  • Comment number 45.

    @0positiv
    @SAINTIXE56

Imagine the reception room service would get if they woke him up.

  • Comment number 46.

45- @RentAGhost not sure if they'd live to tell the tale...

  • Comment number 47.

Hal probably would eventually have to call the "disposal squad", unless Annie stayed in the hotel with him (ghosts go free!) to hit him over the head with the kettle if he looked at someone funny (and to make the tea - milk first, then the tea!).

  • Comment number 48.

Just slipping in anonymously to whisper that chapter 25 of 'Fine Again' (yes, it's still going...not for much longer you'll be relieved to hear!) is up at the usual place.

    Linkie as usual :) http://www.fanfiction.net/s/7389626/25/Fine_Again

Slips out again, as silent as a ghost.... ssshhhhh....i was never here.....

  • Comment number 49.

I'm overthinking it again. It's probably something so simple hidden in this picture, May have to place a little cupcake wager on the term "Teachers Pet" cropping up on sunday.

    33. You're not the only one; I was looking at it thinking thats a bit skew-whiff for Hal, thought he'd have used a ruler!
    43. It's fits so well.

  • Comment number 50.

I'm crawling of to bed. Good night everybody, pleasant dreams and don't let the vampires bite you :[

  • Comment number 51.

43- And where's that red shield I asked for over an hour ago. :)

  • Comment number 52.

Aw this is adorable. Looks like he'd quite like to play football too! Or a similar team sport. Annie should give him lots of hugs!

  • Comment number 53.

I can see the wee canoeing photo there, haaa it would be hilarious if hal and tom went canoeing. I wonder if hal would sit in the middle terrified or take charge. I bet tom being tom would leap in the water

  • Comment number 54.

In my opinion Tom needs the rubber tubes for the muriatic acid, because muriatic acid doesn´t corrode rubber. I ask myself if Cutler will find out about Toms bombing plans...it would be a nice puzzle piece in his anti-ww campaign. I imagine a police search, where they find the material and Tom is arrested for suspicion of terrorism. Terroristic WWs would definitely be scary for humans. Or even worse, Cutler finds out about his plans, evacuates the vampire headquater, Tom blows it up (the police only finds the bodys of the focus group or other vampire victims) and Cutlers Anti-WW campaign becomes really successful.

  • Comment number 55.

54 - you see one doesn't say these things out loud because then they can't be true! :P Ah no I'm juss' kiddin' excellent deducing Thelonia, a frighteningly plausible theory

  • Comment number 56.

    @oarelle
We were told that HAL is a 522 ys old vampire by Damien Molony in an interview
his name is Hal/ Harry- hence Henry
his theoretical birth year somwwhat in 1486
in 1485 the battle of Bosworth saw the victory of hnery Tudor and the death of Richard the third ? excatly 22.08.1485
as it was customary in these days loads of babies were named after the king of the day
    hence our Hal...
do not worry, we have plenty of Louis and Henri ... same practice everywhere

  • Comment number 57.

Is it just me....at first glance.. the picture in the bottom right hand corner look like Mitchell and Annie???

  • Comment number 58.

Poor Tom. That wall is so sad.

I think I would have liked this latest ep more if Kirby had not been quite so slimy and creepy from the beginning. If there had've been some time when he seemed nice and we actually wondered if Nina might have sent him, I think it would have made it all the more creepy when we found out what he was really like. It would also have made his manipulation of our trio more believable.

  • Comment number 59.

I would like someone (preferably Annie) to ask Hal why he wanted to stop killing in the first place, and what keeps him motivated now when it is obviously so difficult. He's given hints and we can make guesses, but I would like to hear it in his own words. His motivations are still not very clear to me (and yes that is a big part of the appeal - his potential danger, so I can see why we haven't had this). I think Annie should have asked him this before letting him in the house, but then, she is Annie!

  • Comment number 60.

Hi re: comments 40 & 56 and Hals nationality.

Although Hal, Harry & Henry would definately suggest English-ness in the Hal and Leo prequel I think Hal refers to The Battle of Orsha (spelling ??!!) and being on the end of a lance. Had a quick search and this battle is more of a Russian, Polish Lithianian eastern european event. So although the name would suggest he's english surely that would be a pre vampire battle he fought as a human in his homeland. Unless of course he was an english mercenery !!!

    Thoughts anyone ???

  • Comment number 61.

Morning all! sweet little wall of dreams. It is like the inspiration wall that they suggest in all the life coaching courses!!
60- I think it is more likely that Hal was born in England, have a really tough childhood, with no family left he became a sailor (possibly in the Royal Navy or Merchant Navy) and arrived to the port of Gdansk, got involved (possibly recruited) to fight for the Polish Army and end up dead in the massive battle of Orsha in Belarus. After that, I think he took the opportunity to educate himself and become the gentleman he is now!!

    Off to work now!!

  • Comment number 62.

    @mistress denton
    @mods
    @bloggers

    good morning , dear friends

    @notaman @dontdrink

English mercenary , quite likely ...

  • Comment number 63.

    Morning all!

    @anyone who's mentioned it

Given what little we know of Hal's background I'd agree with the mercenary assessment. He would have fought for anyone... provided they give him a red shield of course. (From what I can gather, though might be wrong, the coats of arms of all three parties in the Battle Of Orsha were red.)

  • Comment number 64.

and there is a bottle of beer near autumc romance
hence Tom did listen to George

    an adult can drink beer

yes Thomas, but getting plastered on your birthday is not the thing to do

    well we all learn

  • Comment number 65.

    @rent a ghost
I have read the many adventures - understatement of what happened to the town of Orcha/Orsha
it seems quite a few battles were fought quite near
including during napoleon times - town destroyed and burnt down and world war two naturally
if Hal has 'hunted' near it for a good many centuries, he will have seen quite a few unpleasant sides of humanity, the death camps built near and around Otcha coming to mind

  • Comment number 66.

good morning everyone! its lovely and sunny where i am it makes me happy!
(merseyside btw which makes a change)

anyway i was wondering if anyone could help, im a bit confused about cutler. i cant make up my mind wether he is a good vamp or a bad one?

    good points:-
he had a focus group and wanted to learn
he helped tom out of jail and said not all vamps are bad
he grabbed a bottle of blood in 1st ep instead of a person

    bad points:-
he killed the doctor woman(jeniffer i think it was)

cant think of anything else. just passing through, shouldnt be here right now!!

  • Comment number 67.

    sorry i meant whether!

  • Comment number 68.

    @leanne

one does not get a bottle of blood from the shelf without having had a humen being beforehand milked or leeched
    hence humans used as cattle

people have been known to be cunning, befriending a werewolf as in divide and conquer, befriending as getting information by pretending being a friend

    proof in the pudding
he killed the coroner because she had been useless, she was not going to help him anymore and she did not tell him who was the vampire who was playing good vamp-cop against his bad vamp-cop

  • Comment number 69.

Morning Bloggers! What -no coffee? Ok! I'll get brewwing. Double espresso for Saint and I, that much I know.

Oh he's bad, Leanne. Clever and cunning. He wants to get the humans to fear werewolves above all else and is befriending poor naive Tom just to throw him to throw wolves when it suits. And he doesn't care what anyone thinks (except the OO's) which makes him really dangerous. Think we'll get to find out just how bad he is on Sunday.
    I do love a baddie.

  • Comment number 70.

@saint. oh yes i see now, thanks saint. i feel like a wally now ha ha!! i was all so obvious.

  • Comment number 71.

@Leanneloveschoc: Hmm, I was assuming bad, but then I never really thought about the blood-from-a-bottle thing, then again the blood still had to come from a person right? And I'm guessing it wasn't from a blood bank if it was in a drinks bottle. I think Cutler might just be out for himself, rather than the vamps generally/ being good or bad... not sure.

@SAINTIXE56: Good point. It depends how long he stayed in the area after 1514 I suppose. I WANT MORE HAL FLASHBACKS!!!

  • Comment number 72.

@nadia thanks and i love a baddie too! got to go for now x

  • Comment number 73.

What puzzles me is Annie being tired. She's said it a couple of times. Yet she doesn't sleep so it's not sleepy sort-of-tired and she doesn't have a body so it's not weary sort-of-tired. So is she empathising with mothers everywhere and feeling tired because that's what mothers are? Like a huge 'mothers are exhausted' aura?

  • Comment number 74.

Morning! Lovely and sunny now after the mist has cleared.
@73 - Nadia: I thought that Annie felt tired because Kirby was somehow draining her, if that makes sense. He clearly had certain powers, like giving the GP a heart attack so perhaps this one of his ways of undermining Annie?

  • Comment number 75.

Oh yes! I can go with that one. Thanks T&T. Isn't the blog great? I've been puzzling over that for days, I put it on the blog and now I've a completely satisfactory answer.
    Yay! Go Blog!

  • Comment number 76.

"They dont even make it for you"

  • Comment number 77.

This is so sweet I loved everything about ep 4 and the bit with tom and the birthday party was sooo sweet!! I think this wall shows how vunerable tom is I think we often forgot how little experience of the real world he has!

  • Comment number 78.

i have re-watched the the episodes and may be i am analysing things a bit too much but there seems to be a theme along the lines of how womens lives have changed over the years the abuse that they have suffered how men have treated them how this is over come how the world has changed for them ect ect .How women have been depicted in literature ect ect
womens rights ect ect this has in turn changed the world the womens revolution may be not the right words but its hard for me to explain women still find it hard if they want the whole package may be ??? some women dont want the whole package feminism and not stereotyping people has changed the world Toms wall seems like like he wants the whole package very modern in one way but tom has respect for old values at the same time so he want a perfect balance he has not had the stereotype up bringing but that doest mean he do any worse than any one that had .but finding the balance may be hard we cant always have what we want sometimes we have to compromise and some times we compromise on the wrong things ok I have not explained my self very well but eve did bite the apple of the tree of life and joan of arc was born around the same time as Hal Changing of the family structure how the world has changed and how it has changed our lives and how it has changed the roles of men and women and whether there is equality just something to think about

  • Comment number 79.

Nadia, it could be just emotional tiredness. She's keeping the house together, grieving the loss of her friends, trying to take care of Eve the best she can, cope with the knowledge that the Old Ones are on their (his?) way, dealing with Hal and his quirks, Tom and his quirks and remain positive. I can imagine that is a lot to take on board.

Like the idea of Hal being an English mercenary, i hope we get more of an idea than just his prequel :)

  • Comment number 80.

Finally a closer look at Tom's wall!
I like the way Tom's character adds something new to BH. While the others have been wanting to get something they've lost back, Tom wants something he's never had. George also had the dream of a perfect family, but for him that was a way to get back to normal life, the way his life "should" have been.
In a way the others were trying to get back to what they saw as being human, while Tom is trying to learn to be what he sees as human.

By the way, I've been meaning to re-watch last episode, but can't bring myself to do it, because Kirby freaked me out too much. It was a really good episode, so I really want to re-watch it, but Kirby seriously gave me nightmares.

  • Comment number 81.

@79 plus the fact that with Tom and Hal disappearing off for the day and then when they are around fighting both verbally and physically it cant be easy!

  • Comment number 82.

Hello, I used to post here last series and now I have got back into the programme, I feel like posting again =D

I actually forgot that everybody theorises here so I thought I would join in again.

  • Comment number 83.

Hi Chazzy - good to see you.
Also a big shout to Sage who was here in the small hours.

79 - Not so sure about emotional tiredness.(Sorry, Just to confuse things I've now got to use the words emotion and tiredness to explain what I mean) I guess what I'm trying to say is that, whilst Annie can experience emotions, tiredness isn't an emotion. It's a physical thing. Even emotional tiredness manifests itself physically.

  • Comment number 84.

but grief is such an odd thing it is technically an emotion but it can manifest itself physically ie through tiredness.

I dont know if that makes any sense but . . .

  • Comment number 85.

    Hi everybody. good afternoon!
73 and related. I thought Annies tiredness was a sign that Kirbys manipulations to isolate her and in the end "kill" her were working. That with all the fighting in the household and Tom an Hal leaving the house angry she was losing her link to the world.

  • Comment number 86.

maybe its a combination of both??

  • Comment number 87.

84 - I agree for humans. But how can a ghost feel physically tired? Think I'm going with T&T and 0positiv on this one, but thanks for your input everyone.

  • Comment number 88.

On a similar but different subject sorry if its been discussed already but its been bugging me if vampires cant get ill then how can Hal have OCD which is after a mental illness??

  • Comment number 89.

88- I'm not sure if Hal actually has OCD. If you take a look at the diagnostic criteria the DSM IV requires for that I think he is not exactly OCD. It' s more like he's trying his best to keep occupied 24/7 (DSM IV: http://emedicine.medscape.com/article/1934139-overview)

  • Comment number 90.

May be this has to do with stereotyping Annie is a woman just using this as an example it could be a bloke too . Maybe her losing her link to this world was a way of showing us how one can lose there identity when we are not sure of the role we are supposed to have or could be the role someone thinks we should have and we dont want that role and who we really are it sometimes makes us invisible people only see what they want to see and sometimes cannot see past what they want to see and sometimes we only let people see only a small part of who we are and they dont see what we are about

  • Comment number 91.

Here is another Hal thought - Medication.

Hal as someone whose schedule is like 'Medication' to keep him sane, now his 'Therapy' has reached a level where he needs less in the way of 'Medication' but getting the doses right is still something he's working on.

  • Comment number 92.

Hope we get to know more about Culter, his vampire age and his maker (Hal?) Loving Tom, Hal and Annie. Would also like Hal and Annie (Hannie) get together but too much like repeat of Mitchell storyline, but there is a chemistery between them. Hope all the visitors to this site/blog have convinced bbc to comission another 2 series. Great work from Toby, all writer/directors, crew that we got to know during video blogs of series 1-3.

  • Comment number 93.

88- @dramalovely 'nother thought on vampires and illness: I guess it would depend on why they can't get sick if they could have psychiatric illnesses or not. If they've just got a really great immune system then they could still get depressions and other metnal disorders.

  • Comment number 94.

    and Regus has Asthma ^^

  • Comment number 95.

I agree with some of the other comments earlier re Tom, he may not be book or social smart, but mcnair thought him about surival. Building a swimming pool may just his excuse to collect chemicals to help protect Annie and Eve. What about the cellar in HH......

  • Comment number 96.

And Herrick would take those little pills.

what i mean is sometimes things are over looked because Annie she comes across as strong and so we see before us a strong person and think she can cope so she can be overlooked it is a form of stereotyping a person because of what we see them to be not just that in this day and age we also presume a lot of things and we could come across as belittling a person especially because of equal rights ect so we need to find a balance

    @vamps and medical condition

totally on with ewan w/therapy and medication regarding Hal

vamps in BH are victims of a 'curse' ...i.e. an addiction
Mitchell was a sex addict and from what DM says, his Haal is more on the alcohol addiction

    regardless, these are medical conditions
    but one could go further
which has not yet been ever discussed on the BH universe
as why the curse and what is the curse and what causes the curse

could be a virus? could be aliens?
one could imagine vamps being human alterd by an alien virus which is modifying their human biolgy and make them look immortal
    because
who knows on that alien planet , peeps live 5000ys as human earthling ys, yet die naturally
a vamp would have no knowldege of teh original infection and as no human would live 5000ys
by the time the vamp really start showing aging a good 1000-2000ys have elapsed...

Hi people :) I'm kinda new to writing on this blog - Although I've been reading it since series 1, yay! Anyways, pleasure to meet you all, you all seem awesome!

Just wanted to comment in reply to @60 (and others) regarding Hal's past - I reckon he is English, and back then there were no traditonal armies and it was very easy for people to become mercenaries. I think in his prequel doesn't he mention 'running away' or such similar to battle? Which would suggest he's a mercenary. I don't think it was difficult back then to find yourself fighting in a foreign country - we know for example that as a young man Thomas Cromwell 'ran away' too and ended up fighting as a mercenary in Italy! Also I have been thinking about his 'jobs' he's had - cleaning up the streets etc. I'd imagine that all happened before he left and found himself a soldier, and then probably advanced up the ranks, became important [insert red shield quote here], became a Vampire and then left or carried on fighting for a bit? Thanks for listening to that :) It's great to finally join-in!

of Tom, muriatic acid and oil for fire : a swimming pool tale

muriatic acid can be used as sodium hypochloride to clean swimming pools water. but it is also usable in mustard gas , with the right chemicals, it can produce hydrogen gas in large quantities, highly explosive! add a bit of oil, a little match
    ...
