New to BH? Watch out, this post contains spoilers from series one...

Imagine you're an actor.  You're sitting at home eating biscuits when your agent calls, offering you a part in a new show.  If you're anything like us over at BH Blog Towers, this is exactly what would happen...

AGENT: "I've got you a part in a hot new show."

YOU: "Mega!  What is it?"

AGENT: "It's a drama about a werewolf, a vampire and a ghost sharing a flat in Bristol.  The script is great...  and you get free biscuits."

YOU:  "I'm IN!"

Surprisingly, however, that's not how it happened for the stars of Being Human.  Here they are in another BH Blog exclusive, explaining exactly what happened when they got the part.

(PS - Our 'Herrick's Most Evil Moment' video will be coming next week - stay tuned!)

    Thanks team....again.

Interesting how Jason, Dylan and Annabelle all wanted the part straight away but Aidan, Lenora and Russell (hang on where was George???....must have seen him talking about it somewhere else) were not too sure at first.

Pleased to know Toby agrees with me about a certain actor being extraordinarily good-looking and charismatic.....etc.

    Another good one team

  • Comment number 2.

Just watched it again.....Dylan "This is one of the best baddies I have ever played" Awwww!!.

  • Comment number 3.

Is it just me or does Aidan really not come across well in these behind the scenes/insight interviews? To me it's like watching a cocky 14 yr old boy. Meh. Maybe it's just me.

Annabel seems lovely. Dylan makes me laugh.

Thanks for the vid, BH Blog team :) P.S. think you should get more acknowledgement for carrying the show/fans through to the next series ;)

  • Comment number 4.

I don't think he comes across as that cocky. :/

I love the way Dylan touches his head when he says "touch wood" lol!

    Thanks team. :)

  • Comment number 5.

Sperkii:: You know that I am not biased in any way (yeah right)....but he comes across,to me,as someone who just can't beleive his luck in landing the role. And speaking of the next series...any news...anybody??...anybody at all??

  • Comment number 6.

Vampfan next series (apparently) starts filming in august if thats what you mean?

Sperkii I completely agree about the blog team - you lot reaaaaally should get some sort of acknowlodgement for this site it really is brilliant and you get a lot more visitors than just us nutters who actually post :-P I know at least 3 other people who come on now to watch the videos etc and Im sure more of them come on but just dont wanna admit to it lol you're doing a brilliant job of keeping everyone interested in the show while its not on our screens and im certain that the show has more viewers than it would have done without you. So yeah well done you lol

Right ill try and watch the video now but if theres lots of people watching it probably wont work might have to wait til middle of the night again but ill see if i agree with you sperkii...

  • Comment number 7.

    Thanks eagle.

If they are filming in August...does that mean no fingerless gloves??

And for what it is worth, I couldn't agree more about the the blog team, they spoil us rotten.

    Yay Team!!!

  • Comment number 8.

Right it wouldnt work so legged it to pub gona nick some wi fi :-P Hopefully itll work now

Sperkii I do kinda know what you mean about Aidan not sure about this one but in others I have really wanted to slap him round the face lol but thats more for him being such a bloke!

Thing is you kind ahave to remember being an actors great but theres a hell of a lot of rejection and you kinda have to keep telling yourself you're brilliant and bigging yourself up not only to make casting people think they need you and that you're the best thing since sliced brerad but also for your own sanity - if you didnt constantly tell yourself that you're brilliant then youd be sat in a dark corner rocking and crying within a month lol and this is Aidans first big lead tv part so chances are hes pretty giddy about it whereas Russell and Lenora were both pretty famous over here already and know what to say in interviews etc.

Also Aidan had the extra pressure of replacing guy who was brilliant - i know he didnt watch the pilot until he'd already either started or finished filming cant remember which he said but guy's mitchell had an awful lot of fans and people really loved him so he had big shoes to fill which is never easy...

Right I will actually watch it now and yay dylans in it lol athough you know ill be watching russells bit for about half an hour :-P

  • Comment number 9.

Haha vampfan we were talking about that before on the forum I think - we'll be able to tell whether we were right about how deep and meaningful the gloves actually were or if aidan was telling the truth and he was just cold but personally I think thats a load of rubbish I think we were right lol.

But he did think they were cool really - he was just trying to save face when he said not lol because he was wearing them in russells video and he'd just come out of his trailer not on set and was only wearing a t shirt so wasnt cold or hed have been wearing a jumper lol

Oh and when I say only wearing a t shirt - i meant on his top half he had jeans on too so calm down girls lol

right ill actually watch it now...

  • Comment number 10.

Ahh poor toby working on his holidays "rubbish, ugly, stupid" lol that made me laugh so much i sat laughing in the pub like a completely nonse so thank for that! Lol oh dear.

Yep see what you mean about Aidan although it kinda comes across as very tongue in cheek I dont think its serious sperk just a joking arrogance - kinda laughing at himself. Although if you can afford to fly back off holiday and then fly back out again then pfft he didnt need the part he must have been loaded! Unless it was butlins...he did say he scrubbed his tan off so mustve been out of a bottle lol he could get that kinda tan at butlins...

Ahh Annabel just seems so lovely - like i said you never can tell in interviews but she just seems so sweet.

For gods sake though dylan burn that coat!! its evil chop it up and burn it lol what ever posessed him to buy it - I mean I have no fashion sense what so ever im a jeans and t shirt girl through and through but it looks like and animals just crawled up and died on him :-S how cold could it have been? Still think hes brilliant though despite the wierd clothes :-P although I notice nobody has a go at his arrogance lol and his is a lot more serious than aidans i think...but dont care love him hes brilliant.

But wheres my Russell???? Ahem Blog team? Hmm do I need to take back all the nice things I said a minute ago? Lol seriosuly though why no Russell? :-(

  • Comment number 11.

Woaaaaaaaaaah far too much posting sorry about that :-S will disappear now lol well you were all saying youd had no essays from me in a while so there you go my defence of actors and random video comments...still very jealous of annabel nobody should be that pretty its just not fair to the rest of us! if i ever meet i think i might do it with a bag on my head lol hmm probably a good idea actually it might shut me up for once :-P

  • Comment number 12.

Aw that was great, thanks blog team.

Sperkii, I kind of know what you mean about Aidan not coming across too well in these sort of interviews, but don't you think it's cause he's a bit shy and overwhelmed by the whole 'stardom' thing, I mean he's not an established celebrity is he like Russell and Lenora, and I think it can be misinterpreted as cockiness, but I agree with Eagle about his not having a lot of experience in interviews.

And Cieria, I think the touching your head when you say 'touch wood' must definitely be a Manc/Northern thing, as that's something I always do too! lol ;P

  • Comment number 13.

Oh I do it all the time I thought everyone did it :-S well I guess I'm kind of northern...ish so maybe it is :-)

  • Comment number 14.

And ref: #7 and #9 about the fingerless gloves....if they're in the next series, Aidan will just argue that Mitchell had to wear them for 'continuity' reasons...

    But they do look cool

  • Comment number 15.

Those asking about Russell, I wondered about him too but then I remembered that they brought him over from the pilot. Maybe that's why they left him out. (Mind you they could have still covered how he got the role with the pilot but anyhow...)

As for the touch wood thing I've come across that before and I'm a southerner. My Nan used to do it except she tapped my head instead. Cheeky minx.

  • Comment number 16.

I think Turner is just pretty happy with himself at the moment. It's new to him and he's excited that it's all worked out. He's still not my favourite though.
There is nothing wrong with Dylan's coat.

  • Comment number 17.

Yeah but Dylan was brought through from the pilot too and he was in it...

Lol no there's nothing wrong with the coat - well it's absolutely awful but each to their own - you know I couldnt actually be mean about Dylan I think he's brilliant :-)

Yeah I do agree about Aidan - you'd be pretty chuffed if you were him wouldn't you like I said he's probably a bit giddy still - think he realises he's been properly "discovered" now. Russell's always lovely in interviews and stuff but if you see him in stuff he did for the history boys he had a touch of Aidan about him as well

  • Comment number 18.

Oh and as nobody's said it yet RIP MJ x

  • Comment number 19.

And Farrah...lets not forget her either

  • Comment number 20.

This has no relevance to BH in the slightest.

  • Comment number 21.

    I know...sorry :-S

  • Comment number 22.

Unless... Russell is going to do an MJ tribute dance. Hell, why not get all the cast do Thriller. I'd watch that.

  • Comment number 23.

    Oh yes so would i!

  • Comment number 24.

Thanks BH for that ...nice surprise.

I think Aidan's a bit nervous you know when he gives those behind the scenes interviews because he speaks so incredibly fast... not like his on screen persona at all.

  • Comment number 25.

Yo! Great comments guys. Just to clarify about Russell, he's slightly different because he was carried over from the pilot. However, he did say he was nervous at first about working with new actors playing Mitchell and Annie... but was really relieved when it all turned out fine. Bless 'im!

  • Comment number 26.

thanks for the new video team its nice to no about all this stuff that you keep coming up with

you should be fed up with us all by now

as to what people have been saying (mostly eagle) his coat is very bad i agree with you there

aidan being cocky i think its just nerves to be fair

everyone's just so lovely they all seem really friendly i bet every one an set has had a great time working with them all

  • Comment number 27.

    lol mostly me...sorry katy :-S

  • Comment number 28.

Oh and BHproduction - Dylan was carried through from the pilot too and he was in it?

  • Comment number 29.

Hahaha, I'd never seen Blade before. It's on now on Five USA. I've just watched 5 minutes and have laughed through 4 and a half and winced through the rest (at the pulling out of fangs). I almost think I preferred the rubber bats of hammer horror.

Being Human, True Blood and Underworld are my faves of the ones I've seen. Mind you I still have to see loads, including Lost Boys. Got a telling off from super the other day for not having seen that ;)

  • Comment number 30.

On the subject of Dylan's furry coat, do you think it's his or maybe he's just in costume for his next job. I LOVE Annabele's blue coat BTW.

Oh yes, I heard that Lost Boys is a good film...is that Kiefer Sutherland?

  • Comment number 31.

yeah i wanna see lost boys - doesnt sound like my usual kind of thing but sounds interesting. cant wait til july 21st im seeing let the right one in on our biiiiiiiiiiig odeon screen :-D there are perks of working in a cinema - who knew lol

  • Comment number 32.

I hated Let The Right One In, so you'll probably love it, eagle!

  • Comment number 33.

And, yeah, shellmoby, I think it is Kiefer Sutherland

  • Comment number 34.

what you two havent seen lost boys where have you been

  • Comment number 35.

    ive heard its brilliant

  • Comment number 36.

let the right one in i mean - not heard a great deal about lost boys think everyone assumes everyone else has seen it so doesnt need to voice an opinion lol

  • Comment number 37.

well you really need to watch it (lost boys) coz its brill

  • Comment number 38.

good video! best bit was definitely Toby's description of his casting-notes lol.

Lenora's enthusiasm for the writing makes me happy too :)

I think Aidan's apparent 'cockiness' is mostly down to self-consciousness and nervous joking.. I do that kind of fake-arrogance all the time when im nervous and then realize people who dont know me probably think im a jerk! But it does work as a good barrier to nerves...

Then again it would be nice if he could get over it and talk about the show in a bit more depth..

  • Comment number 39.

Oh and The Lost Boys is AWESOME! Kiefer Sutherland is suuuch a cool vampire! And Jason Patric is hot! And the Two Coreys are in it! And it's got an amazing 80s coundtrack! And it's got Bill from Bill and Ted as one of the Vampire gang! ANd one of the best last lines in all of film!!

  • Comment number 40.

lol Bex....ok you're enthusiasm has sold it to me. consider it added to my rental list!

  • Comment number 41.

Interesting as Lovefilm users only give it a 2 star rating - but then they won't all be completely obsessed with vampires and all things ghoulish as we are! lol

Sorry...ahem....topic...yes Toby did make me laugh when he did the "Rubbish - Ugly" bit.

  • Comment number 42.

By the way, for those of you peeps suffering Mitchell withdrawal, the Desperate Romantics DVD is due out 28th September according to the BBC, so I reckon we only have a couple of months wait until we can see Aidan on TV again. The BBC have a whole press pack on the website with loads of info, and some pretty nice pictures.......

Sorry, it's sort of on topic..... :D

  • Comment number 43.

ahem speaking of lovefilm (see im still on topic-ish) apparently According to shellmoby but shes disappeared now - they have the dvdvd release date for desperate romantics as september so looks like itll be on a lot sooner than we thought hopefully august time but maybe early september lovefilm tend to get things early dont they...but yay

anyway shellmoby gets credit for this post i was just too excited :-D

cant wait its a brilliant book its got Aidan in it and another of the history boys (samuel barnett - brilliant actor)...what more could you want from a show lol yay

  • Comment number 44.

oh ok you came back - i look silly now lol but never mind i usually do :-) happy happy happy

  • Comment number 45.

lol Eagle....I just posted a reply on the Forum but you obviously didn't read it yet :) he he

  • Comment number 46.

sorry was too busy getting excited lol cant wait to see it - its one of those shows that i wouldve watched it because of the subject matter, i wouldve watched because aidans in it and i wouldve watched it because it was one of the history boys so to have all 3...i tell you what though im gonna be seriously peed off if its rubbish now lol

wonder if itll have a blog - probably not with it being bbc2 :-S and if so itd probably be lots of posh artsy people anyway - im not really an artsy person even if i do like art and the theatre and stuff lol im nowhere near posh enough :-P

  • Comment number 47.

oooh it is getting one - 7th july - videos, interviews all that stuff - brilliant. still hope its not all posh artsy people lol surely there are other normal (i use that word loosely lol) people who can just appreciate a pretty picture and good story :-P

"a selection of steamy sonnets by Dante Gabriel Rossetti read by Aidan Turner" oh my good god i do love the internet lol i never did websites and blogs etc before this one - think im getting a little addicted now :-)

  • Comment number 48.

haha theres a little clip of him reading one lol wow very very nice...ahem yes he does have the whole "im so sexy and yeah i know it" thing going on but so did rossetti and it just works and just...yeah...lovely - all the mitchellettes go check it out you will like it lots :-) he does do the cocky smirking thing but its just so so just...mmm...no words lol lovely :-)

sorry will stop clogging up the bh blog with desperate romantics stuff ow promise...just excited :-D this is pretty much as interesting as my life gets lol rght ill go now...promise...

  • Comment number 49.

Wow, Aidan's sexy sonnet....yeh he's trying a bit too hard but who cares. And he looks delicious in his costume, I'm gonna have dreams about him in that white shirt tonight...lol

*totters off to watch it for a fourth time*

Come on BH Team, post us a new vid and we'll stay on topic, I promise!!

  • Comment number 50.

And now I've seen that I forgive him for the sideburns :D

  • Comment number 51.

am i really the only one who likes the long hair and the sideburns? :-S ok perhaps walking down the street in todays day and age id probably think he was a nutter but hell a pretty sexy nutter lol

  • Comment number 52.

    oops i was meant to leave...sorry :-S

  • Comment number 53.

*vomits* (super, you're with me, right?)
P.S. apologies if Aidan or anyone Aidan-related reads any of this blog stuff. I am not an Aidan-hater by any means, I'm sure he is quite a nice young man, I just don't get the obsession is all ;)

Def gonna have to watch Lost Boys now, although hope it's not too cheesy.

eagle, are you saying posh people aren't normal? More to the bloomin point, are you claiming you ARE normal?! ;p

  • Comment number 54.

lol thats why i said i use the term loosely - but no to both of those things - just mean im not an expert in art or history etc but they still interest me.

  • Comment number 55.

Ah ha, I see, so you meant to say 'non-expert fans'? :)

  • Comment number 56.

Sorry Sperkii...we were just a little overwhelmed. :D Think I've given myself a headache now with all the excitement.

*goes for a lie down and thinks of Aidan* No, that WON'T help, lol

Yep, have got Lost Boys on order now. :)

  • Comment number 57.

I'm watching it right now. I love The Sutherlands :)

Man I was only 4 when this came out

  • Comment number 58.

Haha, kids' film but kinda enjoyable. I love Kiefer. And the guy who plays Michael. I've seen him in something else but can't think what. I bet all the teenage guys had a massive crush on the girl in it. She's kinda Shakira-esque.

  • Comment number 59.

Jason Patric, I think he's been in loads of films but not major roles. imdb gives a whole list of his films, but I don't think I've really seen any of them

  • Comment number 60.

That's weird, I haven't seen any of them either. Hmmm, maybe he just has a double

  • Comment number 61.

Ok sperkii consider me told *slaps wrist*

  • Comment number 62.

    heehee eagle.

Right, well I just watched the last 40 mins or so of From Dusk Til Dawn as well. Hahahaha, it'd be a very good one to do drinking games to...every time someone/something gets killed, you down a drink...everyone would be on the floor very quickly indeed. I think the only reasons people must watch it is for the vampire strip bar (particularly Salma Hayek dance) and George Clooney.

  • Comment number 63.

hmm wonder when we're getting the herrick video need to stop waching aidan reading that poem its doing funny things to my tummy lol

  • Comment number 64.

EAGLE:::: Help!! (48) Where is he?? Reading what?? You know what an exitable little puppy I get and the thought of him 'out there' when I have not seen him makes me forget how to use the tinterweb box. Where do I go?? What do I press??

  • Comment number 65.

lol the desperate romantics website its not up properly til the 7th but its just bbc website forward slash desperateromantics :-) last bit of video - warning though it might make you forget how to walk and talk for a minute lol

  • Comment number 66.

not a linky so hoping theyll let me keep that post...please? its for bbc anyway so they should have a little team spirit lol

  • Comment number 67.

Oh and hes reading one of Rossettis sonnets but cant for the life of me tell you which one every time i try to listen to the words properly my head just goes to mush lol very very sexy :-)

  • Comment number 68.

Thanks Eagle:: I'll go off in search.....I may be some time. If I am not back soon....just leave me, I'll be fine.

  • Comment number 69.

oh dear 5 hours later and vampfan still isnt back lol what have i done :-S

  • Comment number 70.

Lost Boys is great. Cool music, decent costumes, perfect cast, silly script. Camp, 80's vampire films, you can't beat 'em.

I wish I fancied AT, it might make my inane comments worth my time. He is very good looking but just not for me.

  • Comment number 71.

You do sometimes :-D i have textual proof lol give me a break ive been single far too long watching a good looking bloke read nice poetry in a nice shirt with a nice voice is pretty much as good as it gets for me lol.

Now all you lot who arent single on the other hand have no excuse :-P

  • Comment number 72.

Was that comment for me ee?

  • Comment number 73.

Don't worry Eagle, I am back. Just needed a very long lie down with my wet flannel. But in fairness, you did warn me.

  • Comment number 74.

    yeah it was for you.

glad you found your way back down to earth vampfan lol see someone appreciates my aidan ramblings :-P

  • Comment number 75.

I don't understand. Textual proof of what?

  • Comment number 76.

K, it's over my head. *hugs*

  • Comment number 77.

sorry miles away - i meant your night of aidan admiring which you tried to take back the next day :-P

never mind my minds all of a fuzzle probably not making much sense sorry.

  • Comment number 78.

oh lol. Yes and you know why... I'll text you.

  • Comment number 79.

youll text me...uh oh that sounds ominous is this telling off going to be too severe for the delicate ears of the blog? *starts running* lol
