Stargazing LIVE

This month BBC Two turns off a town's lights (live on air) to showcase the wonders of the UK night sky.

Over the course of the three nights, the Stargazing LIVE team will be switching off lights across the country (at venues including the Eden Project) to demonstrate just how magical UK landmarks can look when light pollution is removed.

Following the series, school children across the country will get the chance to put their astronomy questions directly to one of the nation's favourite science teachers, Professor Brian Cox.

At 2pm on Thursday 19th January Professor Cox will present a live, interactive lesson from Jodrell Bank in collaboration with The Big Bang Fair.

All UK schools can join in via the BBC Red Button or on the website.

Comments

  • Comment number 1.

Several letter-writers on the final Dear Ceefax edition (Ceefax pages 145-147) are asking abou the possibility of Dear Ceefax finding a successor on BBC Red Button Digital Text.

    So. any news?

  • Comment number 2.

What's happened to the 'Red button Rugby' that used to be on early Friday evenings. So, the Rugby was average but the commentary team were entertaining by themselves.

  • Comment number 3.

Martin Ware - Scrum V returns Fri 3rd Feb by the looks of it
    1900-2100 Scrum V: Ireland U20 v Wales U20 with audio options

Then normal league continues on 10th Feb, hope that helps.

Red Button staff... BBC2 Wales normally screen the Snooker Welsh Open in February - please can you confirm if BBC Red Button can show the coverage this year? And please please please can you screen it this year on Freeview - last year with all of the F1 coverage we only got to see one semi final, and Freeview viewers didn't get to see the final, etc :-(

Also, as an idea for the Snooker World Champs in April - using BBC archive, how about screening a classic episode of Pot Black each night after the main snooker has finished? I think this would be a great idea - and it wouldn't cost much to show! Please consider!
