Rat henchman required!

From Lynda Snell:

Thespians!  Due to unforseen circumstances we need someone to take over the part of Mealy, a henchman of King Rat, in our Christmas pantomime, Dick Whittington.

The ideal candidate will have a cooperative nature and a talent for physical comedy, but frankly anyone who could learn a few lines and not bump into the furniture will be welcome.

Please get in touch with me at Ambridge Hall or Grey Gables, or come along to a rehearsal at the Village Hall.

Cleaning advice, please

Can anyone suggest a specialist who can get nasty gunk (wallpaper paste?) out of a sequinned top?

Contact Sabrina Thwaite, Grange Spinney if so.

Cost no object!

Deck The Hall

christmas tree

Elizabeth Pargetter writes:

Following the success of last year's event, Lower Loxley Hall is once more inviting the public to "Deck The Hall" - our celebration of all things Christmassy.

The Hall itself will be dressed with the finest seasonal foliage and will echo to the sound of carols courtesty of Darrington Choral Society (call for performance times).

    * Outside, the arboretum will become a breathtaking spectacle of Christmas lights.

    * See our living nativity scene, starring animals from our Rare Breeds corner.

*New this year*  - A German Market selling traditional food, drink, decorations and gifts.

And for a small additional charge:

    * Ice Skating on our very own temporary rink - skate hire and assistance available.

    * Carriage rides - in a beautifully decorated carriage drawn by our magnificent Shire Horse, Cranford Crystal.

Lower Loxley Hall, Borsetshire - a great day out for all the family
