    Hi Adam and Joe
I am Big a fan of your show and the pod casts and listen to them every week. Last night I watched the Apprentice You're Fired show hoping to hear Joe's Apprentice song imagine my excitement when they showed a Montage of Margaret Mountford and my disappointment when they replaced Joe's song with God Save The Queen I think Joe Song would have a much better tribute for Margaret as it was her last appearance on the Apprentice

Keep up the great work it makes my Saturday

    Launch Fantastic!
That's what I love about the Adam and Joe Show; the way it distorts the language and makes whole new phrases. Idiot-hole is a particular favourite. My son called his teacher and idiot-hole. Unfortunatley she's a bit old and she isn't familiar with the show and wasn't prepared to listen to reason. Maybe his new teacher at his new school won't be such an idiot-hole.
But anyway, I will be a proud member of Blog Squadron, and I will try to use "Launch Fantastic" in the same way that you have on the web page bit whenever possible. I'm off to buy some balloons, vinegar and baking powder.

Love the show and thought I'd share with you a little fake trailer I made which I hope gives you even a little chuckle in return of all the great big ones you've given us...

Yay! Finally a way to interact with other A&J Fans. I'm a frequent member of the Globe Squadron listening from South Florida, USA. I love listening to Adam and Joe for the exposure to good music we don't get on our local radio stations, and some excellent banter and humor. Listening to A&J is a real highlight of my week - every week.

    Happy belated birthday Dr. Buckles.

    Stephen!

I'm so glad that we're getting some Adam and Joe blog action now! A&J's little room in the Castle is one of the best bits on the BBC website if you ask me...

Love the funny little videos, especially fan animations and messages from Adam and Joe, more please!

Also, I've only just noticed how strangely alluring Adam is without his beard... And I'm going to see him at Norwich BUG in September...

Hello to Adam, Joe and all of the lovely blog people! What a delightful intro video. It's quite fitting that it is a delightful intro video for a delightful blog. Hurray.
I always find it very interesting putting voices to faces, so I found utmost enjoyment in seeing both Adam and Joe talking with their faces on full display.
I was introduced to the Adam and Joe show a few months ago by a lovely chum of mine, namely David Rattigan, who is also a big fan. Massive thanks to him for bringing A&J to my attention, my life was comparatively dull and laugh-free beforehand. (Hearing his name on the show may make him erupt with joy and grinny-faces, so if you could slip this in there somewhere, that'd be just wonderful.) While I regret to say that I miss out on the full three-hour show, I regularly listen to the podcasts, and eagerly await the newest one to download in iTunes. God bless iTunes.
In your latest podcast, you cleared up the name of the 2001: A Space Odyssey opening theme (Also Sprach Zarathustra by Strauss) and I was able to purchase it. For this I am eternally grateful, as I have been searching for it for quite some time. Cheers for that, guys!
Just wanted to get those few things up here on the blog.

Keep up the good work guys!
Regards, Quintumply (real name Stephen (STEPHEN! etc.))

I can't believe Dr P Funk commented on Joe's apparently fuller face. It's simply a trick of the light/camera/video/digital format. Plus, the man's 40 - cut him some slack! God knows I'm 39 myself and getting wider all the time. Sigh.

  • Comment number 21.

    Hi Adam, Joe and everyone,

I'm unfortunately too lazy to be in Black Squadron but this weeks podcast was ace as usual. Adam mentioned he's recording a new sitcom in front of a live audience and invited some listeners to watch. I think and hope that's asking for a "Stephen!" orgy.
One more thing, many months ago Joe stopped doing his pirate arr and in the podcast said there was a reason for this that would be shared in the next weeks show. The next weeks was a pre-record so it was never mentioned again. I would like to have my mind put at ease and be told why the arr died.

I love the show, don't stop being funny!

    Looch. x

re- the Arr scandal - Obviously Disney copyrighted the phrase for Jack Sparrow and Joe can't afford the license fee.

I think Adam should pay a little more respect to Joes Arrs, myself.

  • Comment number 24.

DrPFunk: There is a well known hollywood syndrome known as "Wide Face". It happens to those who have reached the pinnacle of their career and have peaked in awesomeness.
Even John Cusack has it! So Joe has not been eating all the pies, he's just gone Hollywood!

  • Comment number 25.

Hello Adam, Joe, Producer James and everyone else.

I'm trying to watch the video but it's really choppy, it runs for a few seconds and then pauses - anyone else having that issue?

Also, it's really exciting being a member of Blog Squadron isn't it? I wonder if they'll let us write in for special fan club pendants or badges like the Fireball and Dennis the Menace ones I got years ago. Fun fact: Lord Peter Flint, aka Warlord, was Fireball's uncle - but you knew that already :)

  • Comment number 26.

roboplege & FruityLexia I am joining you in the defense of any wide-ist remarks about Dr Sexy but robo, I have to take issue with the notion that he has 'peaked in his awesomeness'.
I think, in the next couple of years he'll reveal some jaw-dropping magnificence with which he will gently torpedo us so that the pain is sweet and long lasting.

Dr Buckles has been consistently gorgeous from the moment he first presented himself to us. Joe has just been a bit more experimental.

Going back to wide - do you think the aspect ratio they used for this vid was meant to be ironic or just a bit cod?

  • Comment number 27.

webname, if you think Joe's yet to peak, does it follow that his face is going to get wider and wider until it's kind of like a wall or something when he does finally reach the climax? Or do you poo-poo the "face width = awesomeness" theory?

Sorry about the sexual innuendo in there (I'm not really).

    Dear all at the show,

Love the podcast, don't ever stop it.

More Bowie impressions please - they are amazing

1 minor complaint - its 'Hoggle' NOT 'Coggle' from Labyrinth (sadly I know the script off by heart as it is one of the best movies of all time, ever)

  • Comment number 30.

Adam, love the personalised Addidas hoodie and the tramp-worn jacket.

  • Comment number 31.

@Fruity, I thoroughly poo poo the "face width = awesomeness" theory unless it is applied to the notion that when ultimate jaw-dropping magnificence has been attained, said face (having reached optimum breadth) will implode back to the winsome spotty youth I grew up watching, wondering how hard it would be to squeeze myself into a Clearasil bottle.

I can't believe I am continuing this widthist convo when I adore these boys so much. I have a nervous tick when I listen on a Saturday, that makes me hit Apple+Shift+3 a few times on the webcam page. It's a rubbish picture but they both looked really, really beautiful at the weekend. I think I'll let them tickle my ears again.......

  • Comment number 32.

RE: the chin theme. Perhaps the most apt example of chin size = awesomeness is in this man
    http://www.sfgate.com/blogs/images/sfgate/culture/2007/04/14/evildead1.jpg

Although his jaw is more long than it is wide. Is this why Dr Buckles sports a beard?

  • Comment number 33.

Well this is a welcome addition to the world of Adam and Joe. My proudest moment recently has been getting my 14 year old daughter to become a fan of the podcast and she now has something to speak to her father about rather that just can I have money or food. She did however get rather excited recently when she spotted my purchase of the Adam and Joe DVD and scuttled to her teenage pit to watch it on her mac. Imagine my disappointment when she asked, "Is that really the same Adam and Joe? I'm only asking because that was crap!" You will be delighted to hear that she was seriously repremanded and was banned from tutting and eating Haribo for a week. My real revenge was to stop taking her to tennis lessons on a Saturday morning. She now has to go on the train on her own and run the gauntlet of having to speak to oddballs and old people. This was because taking her was stopping me becoming a member of Black Squadron and these kids, well they have to learn their place in the scheme of things! Keep up the solid effort (and stop swanning off to America Joe)

    Hello Adam and Joe,

WOW! You guys are sooo amazing! I have been a massive fan for ages. I was there in the olden Adam and Joe days when you were on the telly box. I have watched everything you have ever done! I like watching you. In fact, I'm watching you right now...

HA HA HA HA HA! That was just a funny joke that I just made. HA HA HA! I'm not really watching you right now. I'm eating some twiglets.

Well you said that we should send you some things. I have lots of things that I would like to send you. But I'm not sure if you would like them or not. Do you like twiglets? I guess you mean that we should send you funny things. I have made some funny things. In fact, I think that my funny things may have been influenced quite heavily by you guys from back in the early days, when it was just us. You can see my funny things here:

    [Unsuitable/Broken URL removed by Moderator]

I hope that they made you laugh.

Well, I love the new blog. I will try and send you lots of things. You said that it is so brilliant that it will probably take over our whole lives. HA HA! Yes you are probably right!

All the best from your number 1 fan!

  • Comment number 35.

I haven't seen a picture or video of these two since back in the day of the ol' Adam and Joe Show on Channel 4. Adam has not aged at all. Joe, on the other hand, sheesh.

  • Comment number 36.

A number of interesting takes on the expanding face situation. Maybe all the recent photo's have been taken from unfortunate angles....well done to that man for putting up a picture of Bruce Campbell....though like his Forsyth namesake, I feel that we're in Chinny Hill territory not face width territory.

Maybe Joe's been giving his jawline a good work out through the eating of tough foodstuffs...like gobstoppers, toffee, crusty bread and raw potatoes.

Thinking about it, as you do, I'd like to see what happened if Joe mated with Sophie Ellis Bexter...after a nice meal a little bit of 'murder on the dancefloor'(chortle), they could retire to Joe's mating cave and create some wide wide faced offsprings...

  • Comment number 37.

I think Dr Sexy should change his name to Dr Spoon, Dr Moon or Dr Plate, to reflect this wide phenomenon......god I'm bored

  • Comment number 38.

@DrPFunk - I don't want to cause a fuss, but these comments about a person's appearance are coming across as rather rude. To me anyway. Now I know you're probably just trying to be funny, that's fine - it's just that the written word can lose a lot of context as opposed to speaking to someone directly, especially where humor is concerned. Again, I don't want to be a nag, just felt this should be said, leave off with the comments on personal appearance, nip it in the bud and all that.

  • Comment number 39.

Maybe Adams facial girthening is because he's secretly getting ready to play the role of the Master Control Program in Tron 2 (?)

  • Comment number 40.

    Yeah guys come on!

This man comes into our lives every week with the sole ambition of making us laugh and smile and feel good about the world. And what do you do? Shoot him down at the earliest opportunity.

I think Joe is an amazing, witty and strangely alluring chap, and the wideness of his face does not detract from these qualities one iota. It is very easy for all of you to snipe comments at his face from the safe anonymity that the internet provides, but these comments are real, and so are his feelings, and his face.

It makes me ashamed to be a part of a community that would take such easy pot-shots at one of the people that brought them together.

Joe, don't listen to these pleb-heads, you have got a beautiful face. I love the show and everything you do.

    Love you lots,

    Your number 1 fan.

P.S. Adam, I love you too, bye!

  • Comment number 41.

@CreepyFan - to be honest, there's only one person casting face-wideness aspersions on this blog, you know who you are Dr P Funk. The rest of us love Joe's beautiful face and as I have my own photographic issues to do with chins etc. I can appreciate how much of Joe's apparent padding is obviously to do with tricks of the light and camera angles. That's always what makes me look fat in photos.

At least that's what I tell myself. Sigh!

  • Comment number 42.

I just realised that I signed off with a sigh again. Sorry about that...what a predictable sad person I am!

  • Comment number 43.

'Male-wide-face' is a common affliction in the adult male species. It seems to develop in the 35-45 age range. Interestingly David Byrne seems to be the only patient whose look has actually benefitted from it.

  • Comment number 44.

Hurrah! I too am now a member of the elite blog cast squadron. The show is genius, Dr.Buckles and torpedo Commander Cornish ooze with a wit unmatched and continue to go from strength to strength from their early TV debut days.

Will they ever return to the screen? Will Vinyl Justice ever take form again? Maybe this time as the "ipod police"

There is a Stephen on this page and yet there is no reply?? What the deuce?

    Just Coming!

    Ape over and out.
"lock the taskbar, lock the taskbar'" (classic)

  • Comment number 45.

Hang on a minute. I haven't at any stage suggested that the girth of Joe's face is a bad thing. That's just other peoples interpretation of my pointless comments. I suspect things are being taken a mite tooooo seriously. Its like being spoken to by a patronising group of primary school teachers. It is possible to find humour in things like this without being vicious. Chill your boots.

  • Comment number 46.

Love the show Bucules and torpedo commander Cornish!

Hopefully see you at sunny Glastonbury. I'll be wearing a shirt which says "Throw me your dirty paants"

I feel I must comment simply to say "hello", to Adam, to joe, and to my fellow blog squaddies. No-one I know listens to the show (the FOOLS) and I hope this place can be an outlet for the immature giggling which I have to hold in whilst listening to the show on iplayer via headphones at my desk.
    Love to you all!

  • Comment number 49.

    @DrPFunk:

"Joe used to be a svelte, angular and slim...albeit a lanky chap. His face now appears to be a little more moon like or as though its been flattened by a spade...not overtly fat, just wide."

If you met Joe (or anybody else that such a comment is doled out to online) in person, would you stand there eye-to-eye and actually make this observation to him/them directly?

I agree 100% with you that "it is possible to find humour in things like this without being vicious". But in this instance, when it comes to comments about one's personal appearance, I have to politely disagree with you.

Anyways, let's move onwards and upwards and get off this particular hamster wheel. You're entitled to your opinion, no worries, much respec'.

It's a really GREAT new blog here for the BEST show on the radio - and you know, that's...that's something we can ALL agree upon, yeah?...and scene.

    hello bloggers,

with the sting of tears running down my face, i am writing to say that saturday 20th of june will be the first show i will miss live broadcasting of the show in seven months, due to a holiday to meet my girlfriends family in cyprus. i seriously believed i had the commitment to go a full year of unbroken morning belly laughter, but as crunch time dawned i guess i showed my sheer lack of squadron pride in my decision. my fellow squadron members should be ashamed as i broke a fundamental rule of the membership; NEVER EVER EVER put anything before the team and the show, especially family holidays.

i am a terrible excuse of a human being.

I can now sleep soundly knowing that the key information needed in life can all be found on this page.
Does anyone have people in their house that do not understand the importance of silence on a saturday morning? I'm despairing xx

One of them, not sure if it's Adam or Joe,needs to run out of fish fingers
again. A slightly surreal request but that's the only way we'll get to
hear that jingle again, the one specifically composed for discovering the
sad absence of said fish fingers from the freezer.

  • Comment number 60.

Hello Adam and Joe, and other Blog Squadron members,

I sent an email to using your 6 Music email addy. But as I'm sure you get emails by the bucketload I'm not sure if or when you'll actually get around to reading it.

In case you guys didn't get the email, basically I was watching a repeat of Stephen Fry in America on DAVE when I saw and advert for 'Quick Energy' during one of the breaks. I wasn't really paying much attention to the ad as it was appallingly cheap looking and directorially inadequate. However, even though I had never seen it before, there was something mysteriously familiar about the advert. I quickly tried to find it on youtube and, amusingly, the music in the advert was none other than the backing to Joe's Meatballs song!

Here's a link to the UK version of the advert:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oDyEhqm1eTI

As I mentioned in my email, I'm assuming that the same Garage Band loops are being used, but compositionally and structurally there is no denying the similarity. Could this be a sneaky attempt by the agency responsible to help broaden the cultural significance of the radio show and cteate new meme. Or am I just going insane and just hearing things?

Having also watched the advert for 'Quick Energy' on their official US webpage, with my laptop plugged into my posh speakers, I am now even more convinced that it IS Joe's backing music for his Meatballs song in the advert.

    Here's the other link:
    http://www.quickenergy.com/

    Peace and Love!

P.S. Apologies for this long post!

  • Comment number 61.

@gefex59 It's Adam who sings a little ditty when he runs out of fish fingers. I would also to hear it again too, so's I can learn it and sing it in the event that - quelle horreur! - I run out of fish fingers myself.

@BlogPrivateJohnny I think you're completely correct about that backing track! And the narrator on the US ad sounds like Joe doing an American accent.

  • Comment number 62.

Thanks Fruity,i always get them mixed up,sooner or later Adam will exhaust
his stocks of fish fingers,as indeed we all will. Then he'll be forced to
    give it another airing.

  • Comment number 63.

I do wish everyone would stop commenting on joe's wide face he's got a very nice not very wide at all face and I for one would be more than happy to have a face with the same sort of proportions (my face is average width)for a man of 46 that is and its quite a bit wider than joe's so please leave it out as you are making me a bit paranoid about my own face width.Oh and don't forget he's not called Doctor Sexy for nothing p.s Adam is not what you would call skinny especially since he's shaved off all that face fungus anyway keep up the good work, still haven't had any details about our weekend in glastonbury you promised on the podcast bye!

  • Comment number 64.

I guess I am a member of digi-force and now the blog-squadron. I love the show but have just listened to the revolting habits of many other listeners. Of course, I will continue to listen, but is it okay if I don't not get all that involved?

    Much appreciated - Jonathan

PS: Will this get reactively moderated? I would actually prefer for it to be proactively moderated so I don't have to wait around for too long.

PPS: Loved the thrash metal RTTN theme. What a joy.

    All the best...
