Duke Special

Derry's CultureTECH Festival have revealed that one up-and-coming act will have a chance to support Duke Special at his recently-announced free gig.

In partnership with Breaking Tunes, one or more acts will support Duke Special at his outdoor show on September 1st. At least three more acts will be invited to play a showcase as part of the festival, with CultureTECH covering travel and accomodation costs.

Festival organiser, Mark Nagurski, explained: “Since we announced the Duke Special gig we have been inundated with bands from across Ireland keen to get on the bill. One of the reasons we're organising the festival in the first place is to showcase great talent so we'd love to give a young band or act a chance to support such a successful Northern Irish artist."

To apply, bands who are registered with Breaking Tunes can apply directly. Those that aren't registered can sign-up for free at www.breakingtunes.com. Closing date for entries is August 6th.

CultureTECH takes place August 29th to September 1st. For more information, visit www.culturetech.co
