When you have to say Goodbye

Post categories:

Jane Jane | 09:43 UK time, Wednesday, 15 February 2012

Time always move forward, sometimes so slow it hurt but sometimes so fast that I don't even notice. I still remember the day I started my fresh year at the university. But now 4 year has passed, and soon I will graduate from here. My friends too, soon we will go on our separate way. When I think about the thing we have done together, the moment we all had fun, the moment we all share our sadness, etc. , and to think that I have to say Goodbye to them soon, tear starting to form in my eyes.

My friends

As we continue our path we choose, I hope that our memory together will always be there to remind us about our happiness and to remind us that there will always be someone wishing you all the best.

To my friends at the university:
Thank you for letting me be myself and accepting me for who I am. Thank you for all the warmth. Thank you for always being there when I need someone. Thank you for taking care of me. I want you guys to know that I really enjoy our moment together and I really like myself when I'm with you guy. Thank you so much for being my friends. Love you all, my friends.

Oh Hello again every one ^ ^. Sorry about the rambling. This is my second blog on February and I want to talk about the time when you have to say goodbye to someone especially someone you love. I have many friends here at the university. And after graduate we will continue on our way of life or our dream which are quite different. I just hope they success on everything they did. Goodbye is such a hard word to say. But at least it indicates that there will be time to meet again, right?

But I'm feeling a little bit sad. I shouldn't be, it not that we will never see each other again. But I think thing will not be the same anymore. We will not be crazy student who does crazy thing together anymore. We will grow up, everyone does. I just a little sad, that all TT^TT

It would be great if time can move back so that I can go back to the time I like as much as I want. . But our life might be more complicate. Don't you think?

When the time you have to say goodbye come near, what will you do?

My friends

PS. Btw, I'm really grateful for all of your comment for my first blog. Such a great community we have here. Thank you very much for reading. See you soon. ^ ^

    Hello Jane,
Happy to read from you again. I'm 45 years old and I live in France. I agree with you, it's very difficult to say goodbye to people we love. If you're sad, it's really because you had very good time with your friends. And today you also remember about your good, enjoying and crazy moments spent with them. Soon, these moments will become memories. And if you keep contact with some of them, you could speak about this period of your life again months later. When the time to say goodbye come near, you have to make each happy moment a special one in your memory. I moved a lot in France during my life, for studies, when I get married and for my job. Many times, I tried to contact friends I had when I was student. But, it's difficult to keep contact because everyone took a different way. Some people stay friends during mamy years because they both want to stay friends. If you are sociable, I'm sure you will have many other friends in your life.
I wish you the best for the future, Ingrid

    Hi Jane
You write your blogs enthusiastically and your youthfullness is arrestive. I am a bit older than you and I can assure you there is life after uni. Nice feelings will have been kept in your soul and you will be stronger by them.
greetings from Hungary which fully covered by thick snow-blanket at the moment

    Hi Jane,
You've penned down another enthusiastic blog. The snaps accompanying the blog are awesome. I especially liked the third one where despite everyone jumping so high kept touching each one's hands. How did you all managed to jump so high?
Now, regarding your main question about bidding good-bye, I personally had to say good-bye to many people I loved (and I still love) at various junctions of my life. Those were really very difficult moments. Sometime, we've no options but to move on. Life's like a fountain, it keeps on flowing. The day it stops, I think that would be the last day of our life. However, because of the development in technology, we can still be in touch with our loved and dear ones from across the seas and mountains. Though it may not heal the agony of separation, however it certainly reduces the pain. I wish many happiness after your each good-bye.
    Best wishes,

    hi jane
    welcome to our commiunity!
i agree with u Saying goodbye to a friend is not an easy thing to do.espicially uni friends and classmates.when i entered medical uni i was 18,i found 2 friends that we were togather all the 7 years like brothers, and the goodbye moment was very hard moment that i can't describe, but i would like to say in my experience, when your friends move away, the best thing to do is stay in touch and you should have other friends to turn to....
    wish u the best

    Hello Jane,
Your topic is really very nice and important. For me friendship is very important. But unfortunately I didn't have friends at the university. I didn't find my place at that time and I didn't find anybody too sympathetic. But then when I started to work I had to attend a course and I had some friends, who gave me encouragement. They opened the world for me and stand by me all the time. The course lasted only for one year and I missed my friends very much. So I tried to keep contact with them. Internet helped me a lot. It was a very good decision. Because I went to concert and pub with my former friends and I organised a meeting with them. It was so nice experience! So I can advice you to keep in touch with your friends. It's true that you and your friends will change a lot in the following years. But friends can give to you happiness, kindness and warmth in the hardships of life.
    Best wishes,

    Hello Jane,

Pleased to read you writing, and pleased to know that you're going to graduate soon, Congratulations!. It's not easy to say "bye" to friends you love, but what is really good that you are able to communicate with them wherever you are. Actually, you may be sad to end such a funny stage of your life, being undergraduate student!!.. It's OK, nothing will last forever, but every stage of our lives has its way to give happiness... So, Cheer up and welcome a new life that will hopefully brings you new lovely friends and a new shape of happiness. Wish you all the best.

Hi Jane! ... You make me cry because I'm going to pass by a situation like this... in this year I'm going to finish the High School and I need to say goodbye to my amazing friends.
And unhappy we are not going to go to the same university.
But I think too, that I will meet others wonderful friends, but I won't forget my current friends.

    Thank you!

    Dear Jane,
Thank you for your sharing. It is a truly touching story. I think everyone has experienced the similar situation as you. That is why we are human being. For me, love is the most important element in our lives. If we are no love, we deserve nothing. So don't be sad. It is just another beginning of your life. Keep contacting with them and Go making more new friends. Then you will realize the real propose in your life. However, keep going, keep dreaming! Greeting you from Hong Kong.

    Hi Jane,
I know that saying goodbye can be really sad. But keep in mind that it is not so bad in this particular situation - you can stay in contact with your friends and meet them again and again. It is much worse when you know that someone left you forever - but this is not the situation, so stay happy!
    Have a nice day,

    Hi Jane,

In fact say goodbye to anybody you really miss is not a good thing to do. At least it isn't for a bad reason, you are saying goodbye but, hopefully, new good things are waiting for you. New challenges, new friends, new stories, a lot of things are waiting for you. After all you can still keep in touch with your old friends.
Cheer up, a new page is being turned in your life! Try to see things that way.

    All the best!

    Good Morning Jane:

I enjoy reading your posts I discovered this page couple years ago and it is vey Interesting.

About your last posting is little sad to say good bye to our dear friends or family members, but something I learned this process is part of our lives. I am trying to imagine living long long time ago were sending a letter took many months, but thanks to the thecnology now we can keep in touch with our friends no matter where they live.
Take care and have a wonderful week.

/c/But our life might be more complicate. Don't you think?/c/

Maybe that's right. Yet life might go forward and develop

    Hi Jane,

To say good bye is is one of the toughest word in the world but we have to say now and then. We are engaging with new environment from junior school to high school, college, university, job etc. Every where we are getting new friends / well-wisher whereas leaving beloved one temporarily / permanently. But we must thank those who are contributing for the development of the technology and only for this - we are reconnecting ones. I believe in your case, thing will be same. Off course you will be sad for the moment like everyone however day by day when you will involve with other things situation will be normal. You will be able to manage. :)

Thank you Jane for this wonderful post and will be waiting for the next one.

Well, don't forget that each moment is unrepeatable and that is the reason why you have to enjoy each moment like a paradise, but without attachment. There are every time new moments in the live, and so on...
We have to take aware of it and to pursue, smilling...
    Much wishes to you!

    Hi Jane!

The topic is really exciting! You are very young and i think the things will be all right soon. I know it`s very hard to say goodbye, but we have to do it, because we should go forward. Of course, if you`re real friends you will keep in touch, everything depends on your wish. As a see from your pics (BTW it`s wonderful), you`re very amiable. So keep up this way guys)

    Hi Jane,
It's been a fortnight to hear from you. Hope you're doing well. As I was expecting more blogs from you and as I find nothing new to read in the blogs area of BLE site, I was just wondering if you'd really said 'good-bye' by writing this blog 'When you've to say Good-bye'. Would love to hear from you.
    Best Wishes,

    Hello Jane,
Thank for your topic. It wakes up my memories. I'm not sensitive and emotional as you so i always feel the sadness after a long time of the event. And i feel regret because in such important moment i couldn't show my emotion, my gratefulness...I guess i must enjoy my time of life to not regret after.

    Hi Jane,
It is very difficult for me to say goodbye to my friends. I still remember when I knew I entered the senior high school, which I loved, I cried. On the first day of senior high school, I walked into my classroom and looked around. Finally, I sat down next to a girl. We became friends soon. My class was full of happiness and my classmates are friendly. However, the happy time flies. The graduation ceremony was coming fast. I had to say goodbye to my friends. I told them “Though we may not enter the same college, I still miss you.” After I said the sentence, I dropped tears. I hope everyone could have a happy future.

This is my first comment as I am new to this social site.. You have put forward a very heart touching and sensitive topic.. We all can very easily relate to these feeling as they are not alien to us. For me my world rotates around my friends so I am deeply touched by your choice of topic.. Good job

    Hello Jane:
I believe that saying goodbye is one of the difficult things that human beings have to do in their every stage of lives. I read your article again and again, thus, I can deeply understand what you feel. Last week, I said goodbye to my best friend too, but I am not sad now as I know we will be still good friends as before no matter how far we are from each other. I think it’s a good opportunity for you to learn how to be more mature than ever, and the memory with your friends will become your precious which will give you impulse to keep moving forward. However, the only thing you should do now is to catch every moment that you can still accompany with your friends, so don’t leave any regret and enjoy it! It’s really nice that you share your inner thought with others in English. Keep going!

    Best regards,
