In the name of Love
In Miraflores a couple of giants have the longest kiss of their lives. They are loving in front of the sea, below the gray sky, above of the stares of curious people. Their bodies are not perfect, the silhouette of their figures are irregular, but they don't care about it, because they are genuine. The day could be sunny, cloudy or rainy but they will always be there. Nothing matters because they will love for all eternity.
The love in times of war
During the19th century Miraflores was in the middle of a war, known as The Pacific War. (Between Chile and Peru). Peruvian soldiers and civilians died defending his district, for this reason Miraflores it’s also know as “heroic district”.

Nowadays Miraflores is considered one of the most exclusive districts in Lima. There are luxurios hotels, pubs, discos, restaurant and places of entertainment. Although this disctrict is not only attractive for its buildings but also for its beautiful parks and gardens. One of them is: "El parque del Amor" (Love Park).
The sunset could be the inspiration of many people that find in that a place a perfect shelter to think, cry or to love. Between the see and the city. Love Park is located on the cliffs of Miraflores overlooking the Pacific Ocean.

The peruvian poet Antonio Cilloniz used to say that "In the cities, they do not build monuments to lovers", for these reason "Love Park" was opened on February 14, 1993, St Valentine's Day. It’s a place dedicated to all lovers and offers a stunning view over the bay of Lima.

“The kiss” of the giants
Victor Delfín is a peruvian sculptur and is the father of the the giants in love. He made this monument of love and he baptized as “El Beso” (The kiss) the same day of the inauguration of Love Park.
“El Beso” (The kiss) is the most impressive sculpture of Love Park and it describes two lovers in a passionate kiss. It’s normal during the day and night see couples here, kissing or snuggled close together. The monument has a dimension of 12 meters long and 3 meters high.
Many just married couples, with a bouquet in hand, go to the park to be sealed with a kiss the consecration of their wedding. It’s common to see couples in love promise eternity love, fidelity and draw a heart with tiny stones in the ground as symbol of his love while the sunset is painted in the skyline.
Every year on "Valentines Day" a massive people participate in a particulary contest. The competition takes place between couples attendees who can keep "the longest kiss”.
