Sun and sand

Hello Mitzi,

Wow! Talk about making us feel jealous! I'll second all the comments that other people have left on your last post about your glorious photos. The beaches look really incredible - the sand and sea look so inviting, I wish I was there right now!

We have a long weekend in Britain this weekend so the good news is we don't have to work on Monday. The bad news is that on these long weekends if there's even a tiny bit of sunshine, this is what British beaches look like!

Not quite in the same league as the beach Huatulco, is it?

It's been lovely getting to know you and learning more about Mexican life and culture. Before I sign off, I'd like to look at a few verbs from your last post and use some of them for your final homework task. Have a look at the verbs in the sentences below. Some of them are correct and others aren't. You know the drill by now: if the sentence is correct, just write 'OK' or 'correct' but if the verb is wrong, rewrite the sentence with the correct verb.

  1. I remembered a trip.
  2. A trip I made a few years ago.
  3. Why not share the experiences I lived on the trip?
  4. We went for a week to Hustulco.
  5. When we got there the only things we made were eating, swimming and sleeping!
  6. One day we decided to know some beaches.
  7. You have to ask for permission to swim or camp there.
  8. We took the tour.
  9. We knew downtown Huatulco.
  10. We went there only in the afternoons.

And so, it's time to say goodbye.

Good luck and all the best,

Nuala

    Hi Nuala,
Nice to meet you here. At first, please allow me to make an brief introduction of myself.
I am a Chinese student majoring in Japanese in my college. But to spill the beans, I prefer English a lot. As to why I chose to study Japanese as my major, it is a long story which I hate to mention.
Unfortunately, after entering my college, to be more precise, when I began with Japanese, I had to cut down the time to study on English. And even when I became a junior, I went to Japan where I hardly used English. My English now is so poor that I cannot stand.
However I never gave up my dream of becoming an interpretor of English. So no sooner had I come back form Japan than I decided to study abroad again, but to an English-speaking country for this time.
Several days ago, I embarked on preparing for IELTS which will be held on the 10th of July. Sadly, I noticed that there were so much mistakes in my writing and oral English. Though annoyed by this situation, I stii worked on and read an article from the blogs here by chance. And I realised that there are a lot of teachers here for students who want to improve their ability on English so that I wrote this to see if I can get some advice and have the honor to get in touch with you in form of blogs.
I tried to send an e-mail, but I failed.I don't know how to finish this process so I write here. If I have offended you, I ask your pardon.
    Have a nice day!

    Sincerely,
    Martin
