BBC Radio 6 Music

Friday, Friday, Friday! ‘Tis the day where we bring you all of the week’s free music in one convenient place for your perusal. This week this far looked like this:

The Pictish Trail - I've Been Set Upon

Hush! - Cruel

Tim Maia – Que Beleza

Hallelujah The Hills – Pick Up An Old Phone

And rounding up the MPFree EP this week:

Ambassadeurs - Rain

Ambassadeurs is producer Mark Dobson from Brighton and his debut album is due to “drop” this summer. You’ll often find him out sleuthing for samples and supporting the likes of Gold Panda on tour. He says: "I made this track when exploring a slightly darker side of my music on a rainy evening over winter…I wanted it to have a metallic and industrial sound with loads of reverb like it's being played out in an empty warehouse." And he’s not far wrong. Possessing the spirit of Burial with added old skool flavours and sample heavy production, you just can’t help but feel that you’re there in the warehouse! But it’s raining outside. And the roof’s leaking a bit. Genius.
