Every week, Stuff.tv's Lucy Hedges gives us her run down of the week's technology picks:
Gadget of the Week – BioLite Camp Stove £150
This gadget could be a lifesaver over the festival season. The BioLite can charge any USB device using renewable biomass – pretty much any of the twigs and pinecones that you’ll find lying around at a campsite. The heat generated from burning these is converted into energy to charge your devices. It can also be used as a cooker. It also weighs less than a kilo.
App of the Week – Soundwave, Free, iPhone and Android
Soundwave is a free app which promises to help you discover new music through finding out what celebrities and your friends are into. This app is able to instantly track music being played on your phone, and put this information onto an ‘activity feed’ on your profile. But don’t worry, you can turn off synching to enjoy any guilty pleasures without telling the world!
Website of the Week – www.jamwithchrome.com
This site gives you cheap way to play live music with friends online through your computer. A wide range of instruments are available, from electric guitar to synth and drums, allowing you to jam away in real time with mates in far-flung locations. While it might not allow you to live out the rock ‘n’ roll lifestyle, it does give you a chance to relive your adolescent dreams, and is a great time-waster.
