About BBC Journalism Labs

FM&T Journalism | 00:00 UK time, Tuesday, 2 December 2008

Welcome to Journalism Labs, a blog that provides an in depth look at the design and technology behind the BBC's online journalism.   It is written by staff from BBC FM&T Journalism, a relatively new department in the BBC responsible for all the non-editorial aspects of BBC online journalism.  For example, together with journalists we produce and run the news, sport and weather websites. We are also responsible for providing journalism content on other platforms such as mobile, red button, and CEEFAX.

We've decided to blog now, because it's a fascinating time for online journalism.  New ideas are changing the way news is reported.  We would like to share with you what we're doing today and discuss where things could be heading.  We're going to be focussing on new ideas, prototyping and experimentation.  Hopefully, all this will be interesting and we'll generate an ongoing, stimulating conversation.
