The new face of news?

What with the BBC on a recruitment drive for an 'older female newsreader' - listener Suzanne Spiro dropped us a line,

"I think that I would make an excellent choice. However, I've no idea who to approach about it. Perhaps you would let me know. Thanks."

She came to the right place. Here she is (pictured) in Studio 1 reading Your News. Have a listen:

Your news is sent in by listeners and we invite a talented (usually BBC) voice to read it. If you'd like to send us a sentence about your week, email ipm [at] bbc.co.uk

Very good Suzanne! (Give that girl a job.)

May I have a go too? Why not let us phone in for you to record our own week's story so our fellow listeners (daft enough to get up at this time) can hear our news in our own voices?

Just heard your work on the podcast. Fantastic. You get my vote. It would be splendid to hear you read the news regularly.
