    Andy @ 04

    Does this help..?

"Holiday was a long-running UK television programme on BBC One, and was the oldest travel review show on UK television.
The programme began in 1969 as Holiday 69, and for the first several years the year was incorporated in the programme's title, but this was discontinued in the 1990s. The first presenter was Cliff Michelmore who remained with the series until 1986. In 1974 its popularity led to ITV launching a rival show, Wish You Were Here...?

...Gordon Giltrap's "Heartsong" was used as a theme tune until the end of the 1985 series, when it was replaced by specially composed music by Simon May. This proved unpopular, and was replaced the following year by a further Giltrap composition. In 1988, Paul Hardcastle then composed new music called ( The Voyager ). This theme was used throughout the 90s and 2000s until the programme came to an end after 37 years in 2007..."

Good to hear Mr Michelmore again. I was in die Bezatzungsarmee/British Army of The Rhine (BAOR) [Supreme Headquarters Allied Forces, Europe, - SHAFE] when he was in the British Forces Network/BFN and when we came 'home' he marvellously handled Forces Favourites/Family Favourites... and wasn't there 'Down Your way'? Correct me if I'm wrong.

...A marvellously professional gentleman -- and it showed on Saturday! Please send him my regards.

Wasn't 'Down Your Way' first Freddy Grisewood then Franklyn Engleman - finally Brian Johnston. I could be wrong because Cliff Michelmore would, I think have been perfect. He has still such a very pleasant voice.
