Kwik Fit. What a terrible company. You take your car for an MOT, tell you that you need loads of work in order for it to pass. You take your car to another garage for all the work to be carried out only for them to tell you there is nothing wrong with your car and it should have passed. Kwik Fit not interested. Will not give you your money back will not show you how it failed and will not return your money for the MoT. Verbally abused by the mechanic and no joy from Kwik Fit head office.

I listened to the BBC iPM programme today, Saturday 15/08/09 and I have to confess I cried.
I’m male, 61 going on 62 years old, father of three, and was driving at 70mph, heading south, down the M6, close to the Carnforth exitand I cried,, when I heard Jennie Murrays comment delivered on a weekly diary piece, in the same semi bored sounding, downbeat, matter of fact tone with which she delivered the rest of the piece, state that she had accompanied her brothers ex girlfriend to have an abortion, which she (the ex girlfriend) hoped would keep them together, the abortion I presume not the baby.
I have to confess that although I am aware of the vast numbers of abortions performed in this country, I had no idea that we have got to the point of abortion on demand over such a trivial reason. How can this be accepted to terminate the life of a baby.
I have to say that I cried for that little one, I did a lot of thinking over the next miles and I concluded that, with the constant bombardment of media, government and schools of supposed preventative education the ready availability of prevention measures, whether pill, sheath, etc or morning after pill that anyone who becomes pregnant in an irresponsible way and then terminates the pregnancy should be tried for “Death by careless sex” and sentenced to a fine or prison for at least the same length of time that someone convicted of causing death by careless driving.

I've got a great story that you could run about a unique theatre company that builds it's own theatre in the grounds of a hotel in a week whilst at the same rehearsing the play. Then they put on the play for 5 nights, pack up and go home!

The Riverside Players have been performing in the open air since 1951 and this year have gone to Heythrop Park in Oxfordshire for just 5 performances of Love's Labour's Lost between 25th-29th August 2009, following a week of furious set building and rehearsing.

Further details are on their website http://www.riversideplayers.org.uk/

The company is at Heythrop from now until 29th August. Contact Katy Stephenson 07702 626 156

When chatting to a colleague at work - we were listening to the Ashes - we surmised if cricket makes good pub viewing...?

With the Ashes only on Sky, people who aren't helping Murdoch out with his finances have few options (although Test Match Special is unbeatable - the best of both worlds is the TV on with the sound down, listening to Henry Blofield and Co.'s commentary).

But back to the pub. We wondered how drunk you'd be at the end of a (long) day's cricket viewing... and how out of pocket too. Watching football in a pub's all well and good over 90 mins but being in a pub from opening to a cricket game's close of play in the evening would require some stamina, and wealth.

Finding a pub with cricket viewers this weekend could result in some nice audio I think. Although I appreciate this may be coming in too late for tomorrow's programme.

France has for many years been tough on those that buy counterfeit goods as well as those who produce and distribute them, fly into any French airport and if you have any fake goods you stand a very very good chance of being arrested! It is about time that the UK government woke up to the fake goods market. Brand owners have wanted to keep news about the counterfeiting of their products quiet. Counterfeit goods cover all consumer goods from car spare parts, tyres to food, household etc etc...

What a waste of my tax pound , commissioning a NHS Report which is then
ignored for political reasons , and by hinting that it would mean the
reduction of doctors and front line staff to justify this decision .
The real saving which can be made , and no doubt also in the report ,
are the layers of management which could not only be culled ; without
effecting the front line services !
