This week, like every week on iPM, the stories begin with you, the listeners.

Philip emailed us with concerns that young people, under the age of 18, might be able to purchase knives online.

Anita, sent us a line of news that caught our eye: "I sold the diamond ring my father gave to my mother to celebrate my birth, 37 years ago, for £70." Jennifer Tracey went to the jewellers in Crawley which bought the ring and spoke to Anita

I've been a faithful listener to the BBC for 4 years now. Recently stories of the recession have caught my attention and I thought I'd share mine. I lost my first job to the recession 2 years ago while I was working in the cruise line industry in Hawaii. Following that I was working as a night supervisor in a supermarket in Washington state, but lost that job a year ago when the recession caught up with me there. I then started working as a delivery driver for a UPS sub contractor, but was laid off after Christmas, in January this year. Not finding work, and running short on unemployment benifits, I agreed to head up a short voluteer project teaching English as a second language in South America. I found a further opportunity after that obligation was completed and continue to weather the recession here in Temuco, Chile, teaching ESL in 2 different locations. It doesn't pay well at all, but it does keep a roof over my head and food on the table. I am eligible to come back to work for both the cruise line and the UPS sub-contractor, when they need me.

Was someone looking for a recipe for Sour Cherry Jam? I found one today in Harry Eastwood's book, Red Velvet and Chocolate Heartache, along with some lovely cake recipes made with vegetables. As far as I can see it's cherry jam with lemon juice added. Yum. I hope I have posted this in the right place, I have to say this blog is pretty difficult to navigate and I am no technophobe.

    Selling knives:

Perhaps you should talk to your colleagues on You and Yours. While you have had under-18s buying knives, they had a story of a 6-year-old who was barred from buying a pair of children's scissors.
