Bravo, Charlie, Foxtrot, Tango... space to think

It's not easy to find the space to think. In the last few weeks we asked for your thoughts while we boiled a kettle on the programme. This week, we wondered what thoughts the phonetic alphabet might trigger.
Have a listen and let us know if something, anything really, springs to mind - leave a comment below or email us.

I was taught the NATO phonetic alphabet by my Dad when I was about 8 or 9. He had recently joined the retained firefighters and had to learn it himself. He also taught me how the Hazchem code works(the letters and numbers you see on tankers). Done job from that point really - it was inevitable I'd end up doing something involving chemicals! It was really handy to have learned it all though - it came up again in my pharmacy degree at about the same time as we learned about the CHIP2 regs.

My son left Philadelphia but is still in contact with his fellow cult members through their website.

Correction. For VHF in the 20s read 'Radio voice communication' 'George' was missing from the old anglicised alphabet.
