Triumph Spitfire (1979)

"Just had my offer accepted to buy back the alas now, rather dilapidated, 1969 Triumph Spitfire that my long departed Dad bought for my now elderly mum and which she sold 25 years ago!"

Each week, iPM listeners send us a single sentence of news and we compile it into a bulletin. It's totally anonymous and we can promise you discretion.

We receive all kinds of intriguing and unusual tales each week. And we recently made a special bulletin of Your News. We cheekily asked some listeners to write a little more and invited BBC correspondents to pick up on the stories.

Listen again to the alternative Radio 4 Bulletin with Chris Aldridge:

I don't think I will want to find my mothers old Morris Marina. Painted dark

Seem to remember it started to rust in
no time whatsoever. The back seat used
to slide around requiring the passenger
to somehow move the thing back into
position while the car was still moving
and it used to always difficult to start
    on a cold winters morning.

That car can stay in the scrap yard.

Sleepless night , thank goodness for IPM.

Little cynical about raising money to
help families feed their children. How many have huge plasma TV's , Computers , Stero Systems and run a car. Is it a just a emotive subject as a fund raiser towards administration costs ? As many National Charities seem to pay their staff rather too well !

Well having got up to post this comment ,no milk left for a cup of tea since the Corner Shop closed and the Co-op is not in walking distance ; and the check out is always short of staff leading to waiting for my pinta behind a lady with a years supply of groceries.

Might as well tackle the huge pile
of dishes in the overflowing sink ;and
    perhaps all the discarded paperwork
on the office floor ; might even find
the cheque which the debtor stated
on more than one occasion " is in
    the post !

My sons says at my age I ramble he
    could be right.

    The Government promising to increase
benefits to help poor families feed
    their children is a good sound bite ;
but how about similar support for
old age pensioners. Who really are
living in poverty .and unable to properly
feed themselves . As increasing Council
Tax , Light and Heat takes most of
    their pension.

Back to the Kitchen Sink , and
    Office Floor.

Woman's Hour (or someone) recently wanted to know what happiness is. I can tell them. I don't have a job, I don't have much money, but I had a good day today. Went to a local pub at lunchtime with 6 friends to celebrate the birthday of one of them. Good meal, good company, good weather. Caught the bus home, missed my stop but walked the 1/4 mile back and took photos (close-ups of flowers and long shots, etc.) along the way to test my camera's capabilities. I'm happy :).

Mixed fortunes at work today. On the downside, along with over thirty other souls, I entered the "at risk of redundancy" selection pool. Still, on the upside, we all also each recieved a £10 Book Voucher as a reward for hitting some target or other during easter.
