Put that light out!

Post categories:

Jennifer Tracey | 15:16 UK time, Thursday, 26 February 2009

When are the Christmas decorations coming down? Annette emailed to protest that the lights are still up in Machynlleth, Powys. It was suggested by Big Sister that the town might be saving on the expense of bringing the lights down, or that the cherry picker was broken.

We asked for other examples of seasonal decorations hanging on into the spring. One of 434 people who follow iPM on Twitter, Nmeth, found a parking space in Harrogate and dashed off to grab this photo. He uploaded it to the iPM pool (No running. No dive bombing. No petting.)

Xmas Decorations by tradition should be taken down by Twelfth Night.

[Unsuitable/Broken URL removed by Moderator] Blackpool Illuminations however remain up all year round. Ok they may not light them up except in the illuminations season but they stay fixed to the lamposts in perpetuity.

These days there are only ever removed if they are being repaired or replaced.

Leave them up! Then flash a picture in front of one of those "green campaigners." Record the response
