How Christmassy is THIS...

And what about THIS for getting the festive spirit flowing...
Lapland New Forest

These were just some of the scenes that greeted vistors to Lapland New Forest.

Have YOU seen a grotty grotto, sad Santa or duff decorations? Has your neighbour hung more lights than Blackpool? Is your town centre done up like Mr T's chest?Email us a photo.

OR do you have a story you'd like to share about Christmas tat or a personal tale of when the magic of festive season wore off? Was there a defining moment when Christmas lost its sparkle?

I passed the place yesterday on the way back from a walk with the dog and did wonder why there was such a large media presence.

It used to be used for racing go karts around - a plantation of pines and it certainly is *not* part of the New Forest as the link above would imply.

I'll try and take some better photo's if I walk near there today.

Not around here, but it wouldn't surprise me if someone searches a certain video sharing website for "Christmas lights" and gets inspired by some of the displays our cousins across the pond have erected - usually with descriptions like "56,000 lights set to music!". Thankfully, apparently they don't play the music out of speakers, but broadcast it on a low power FM frequency, so at least if the neighbours have invested in blackout blinds they can sleep without being interrupted (unless there's a traffic jam outside)...

We have "new" arrivals in the next village (which is characterized by small square windows and dry stone walls).

So they destroyed the character of two houses by adding fake diamond leaded large windows and a white plastic picket fences!

Now they have the cheapest set of lights hanging all over the properties. They look EXACTLY like Blackpool illuminations down to the alternating bell shapes.

Thankfully, there are some good displays in the old village which looked really Christmassy last night, with the snow on the ground.
