LOVE THIS TREE. GO ON. LOVE IT.

Have you seen a tree or Christmas decoration that looks like this? SEND US A PHOTO!
This tree in Peterlee has been quite a talking point on PM this week. Now it's been replaced. But listener Anya Spackman loves it.
"In today's straitened economic times, what the heck does the LOOK of a Christmas tree matter, especially when it's provided free? Whatever it looks like now, it'll still be firewood or wood chip mulch by the end of January. I'd much prefer a real *growing* tree any time, whatever it looks like."
She's right. And iPM is on the hunt for Britain's least loved Christmas decoration or tree.
If near you there is a spindly, badly decorated tree, or if the council has attached three coloured bulbs to a lampost and is calling it Christmas, please take a photo and send it to us: ipm@bbc.co.uk.
We've got to love ALL our decorations. Even the bad ones. It's Christmas.

Oh it's not too bad - and it was outside Wilkinsons after all.
I have to say that Bournemouth tend to put on a lovely spread normally - though Boscombe to the east can be a little, how can one put it diplomatically, - Chavvy? my SO says downmarket is a better description.

When the tree goes up in the village of West Vale just outside Halifax one irate West Valer always writes to the local paper complaining. One year he thought it had a tilt, another year the lights weren't to his liking:he always finds something to complain about. But this year the tree has been up and lit for over a week and no complaint. I hope nothing has happened to him.

Well, apart from our services taking unwanted Christmas decorations and broken plastic snowflakes and doing "creative things" with them my staff were commenting on the fact that the majority of decorations aren't accepted for recycling.
I have to be honest that I really wasn't all that bothered about it but I have been thinking about it since. Ever since I was banned (by the same staff) from making paper chains from white laser paper and saying it was festive we have stuck to the tinsel, Thelma Newton (the angel), the glittery apple and the plastic snowflakes. The only part of the display that is actually suitable for recycling when it is past its best is the homemade tree.
My conscience is clear on this one - I'm recycling everyone else's unwanted decorations - but on a bigger scale I do wonder what the impact is.

Re: David #6
Well we were mentioned - did you really expect the photo's to be put up aswell?
I suspect they are only for the benefit of Jennifer and Eddie - but it all makes for good radio ;-)

jonnie, Yes, I heard that. But like with John Barrowman, a picture is worth a thousand words. Flash picture, that is.
