Send us a photo of YOUR early start on Saturday.

Eddie Mair | 19:30 UK time, Friday, 7 November 2008

We had a HUGE response to our request to find out what iPM listeners are doing up on Saturday at 0545. In this week's programme we'll let you hear what some of your fellow listeners are doing.

But we thought it would be fun to SEE what's going on.

So if you can be bothered, please take a photo while iPM is on the air this Saturday - even if you didn't email us last week. Then just email it to us. No need to worry about the details now though - just wanted to give you fair warning to get your equipment ready. Ahem.

First you ask us to make your radio programme for you.

Then you move it to a bonkers slot in the middle of the night and expect us to listen to it.

Now you want us to get UP in the middle of the night and send a photo... to your radio programme.

Can I interest you in a cup of tea and a bacon roll at the same time?

    ;o)

It's all a tactic to increase the listeners ;-)

Now what's the betting that ipm is pre-recorded?

Fifi's comment is very funny and I would like to second jonnie's - surely ipm is pre-recorded? I can't believe your team get up at that hour so you can be "live" on air.

It might be live - after all, Eddie has been known to post blog posts at ridiculously early hours like 5:30am - which indicates that by that time, he's arrived at work, grabbed a coffee, turned the computer on, read the paper (if the Beeb's computers are anywhere near as slow as WCC's, he'll probably have got at least 1/3 way through by the time it asks for the login prompt, and another 1/3 way through before it's usable...), read his emails, logged into the blog software...

Of course, those of us who aren't such early risers and have a webcam could cheat - as long as we were prepared to leave our computers on overnight...

The Webcam - Thanks Mittfh ;-)

Of course that's presuming ipm comes from S1 ?

I wonder what the DAB text will be doing at 5:45 ;-)

I think he's addicted to staring at listeners' photos...

It wouldn't surprise me if in about a month's time he asks for pictures of the Christmas lights in our towns, then in February / March it'll be time to send in piccies of snowdrops and daffodils...
Unless nature gives us another snowfall, in which case it will be snowdrops poking up through 1/2" of snow - hurredly snapped before it melts again...

I have just been listening to ipm and took a picture of my loo as I am getting over a particularly nasty bout of flu which leaves you with stomach cramps and the runs. However, I don't know how to put the pic on the computer, sorry!! I have spent this morning signing up for ipm as I am always awake at this time. Since with got older, me and my husband both started waking up early, I used to think my mother-in-law was mad getting up at 6.30am every morning when she didn't have to but now I do the same, well I don't get up I listen to radio 4 instead. I just wanted to say how good your programme is, I love it and now I am a fully signed up member, and will learn how to put my pictures on blogs asap! Going for a cuppa tea in bed now, I love Saturday mornings even when I've got flu!

I'd love to send a photo but don't have the equipment.
If I did, then it would be of the pictures and candles I use for Sahaja yoga meditation in the morning.
I sit in front of some pictures of Shri Mataji, the guru of Sahaja yoga, and three lighted candles and I meditate.
"God spoke to you by so many voices but you would not hear,"from James Joyce, for me,is a good attempt to descibe or illustrate how the Divine "vibrations" flow, especially in the early morning.
    Good wax to you.
